Hi all,

I get asked this so much i've finally got my bum in gear and got around to posting some up-to-date info for all you lucky bunnies who have open SID's.

Maybe it could get moved to the Knowledge Base?

Full credit for the descriptions and information goes to Dilemma et al over at ECUProject.com

   All that info through the SID
@ Karl- Does this let you adjust the map at all mate or is it for monitoring the strange goings on under the bonnet? I'd be lost with all that to look at

Not all vehicles have all the data available i.e. if the car doesn't have ESP/TCS etc then some of the values aren't even logged.
The data is purely so you can see what's happening, although there are a couple of options you can change and it will affect how the car runs, but it's not a permanent mapping change. For example if you add DisplAdap.ST_Enable to the list of SID symbols it allows you to put the car into Economy, Normal, and Sport modes from the buttons on the SID. Economy mode limits the engine to closed loop operation only. Normal - der! Sport mode multiplies the pedal map by 1.5.

Saab obviously have an evil side. They programme all these toys and then don't let us play with them. :loco:

I'm running open SID and it's got a wealth of invaluable info which with Karl's assistance pointed me in the direction of a fueling issue (Faulty MAF). I had replaced the DI and although it was much quicker and was not misfiring anymore I could see from the SID info that the engine was not delivering the requested power output ( airmass) . Without SID showing me this I may just have assumed it was normal. Some of the info is what I would call essential if you are running a tuned B2X5 such as the ability to count knock and misfire on individual cylinders - this could well save your engine! Showing fault codes will save you buying an OBDII reader as well and some problems don't throw a CEL so various engine data parameters are far more useful for diagnosis.

i got my standard ECU in at moment while i decide what new map to put on my other ECU...

got to say the standard ECU map is real nice... seems much better on fuel now too....

and car goes like a rocket maybe since i have given it a good service too and sorted out some vac leaks....

Cheers dude :D

just a quick question, is the E/N/S mode just for manual cars, or is it for autos too?

mine is the auto, and it has a winter and a sport mode operated by buttons on the gearshift and the panel
