I came across this whilst googling for a particular colour (actually I'm trying to discover what colour my 'Vert' is for spares purposes - Espin ???).

Anyway, thought it was pretty useful to have around the site so maybe the Mods can sticky it or something (assuming it's not on here already).

Just by co-incidence, I was looking for my colour code label today(under the boot compartment lid)only to see that
all the ink had run and I cannot read it. Its been fine for 23 years -- this year it must've got wet.


These charts should help in such situations.

It still hasn't got the photos of the Azure Blue 90 and Black 900 I sent him...
And 247 silver isn't listed at all, let alone with the 9000 photo I sent.

Apparently my vert is Plattana Grey (Mica), which appears to be another name for metallic (??)

Agreed that it's not completely accurate though, my first Saab was a bright yellow (Alabaster Yellow - 187B) which did not appear until 1979 according to the chart but my car was at least 4 years old when I bought it in 1980 - ish.

Still a useful guide though right enough, lots more colours used than I would have imagined.

Well my car colour is not listed. Only accredited to NG900's not 9-3's, Embassy Blue (198), strange as it's a common colour on 9-3's

Not only NG900s. It's also listed there for 9000s. My 1990 9000CD 2.3T was Embassy Blue.

It seems my 1995 vert is Ruby red and not Cayanne according to the chart, I will have a look at the colour code once I get it out of the garage and confirm

While an impressive (and ultimately very useful) piece of information, I get the impression that it is still very much a 'work in progress'

A couple of mistakes though the picture on YR2B is Cardinal Red GLE 5 door, not Sepia

SK01 Sterling Silver (EMS) this was called Silver Crstal in the UK.

Dolomite Sand 162 was called Ivory in the UK

Just found my colour code on the passenger door and can now confirm it is Ruby red and not Cayanne code is 242

Bringing this old thread back to life, the site brings up some sort of malware warning, does anyone have a link to a similar site for checking paint colours and codes?

Ah! I found just the same problem end of last week Swampy.
On looking today,it appears the site is back up,yet giving us the Error 404 code.

So,yes I can give us all a great source for paint colour codes,for Saab,and many other brands.
