Robert,

You're a star, and as for just a bit of a drawing, there's no rubbings out or silly scribbly lines...well done my friend! You got a lovely pic of how they sit on your car then?

Is anybody of a mind to get some made up, could we bulk an order together, what do you think they may cost?

Thank you again,

Red

Robert,

Do you have a picture of them on your car, with spots fitted from the front, to see how they look... :geek:

Cheers,

Red

These look exactly the same as the Saab brackets fitted here......

They are the inner ones. They can be mounted above or below the bumper. (On flat front cars.) The lower ones in this pic use a different bracket.

This is another rough sketch of the thinner type brackets. Probably the only time tyou'll find "GOB" on a technical drawing.

Does that imply that any lamps fitted would need to be rear mounted? I have a pair of Lucas Square 8s that I fancy fitted, but they are bottom mounted. Or could I attach a right angle bracket (and/or) make the bracket the other way round and still have enough clearance etc?

They're really designed for lamps where you can rotate the mounting through 90ยบ to mount it on a vertical face. Unfortunately it looks like those offerings from Joe Lucas (the Prince of Darkness) don't do that. I think the idea of the brackets was that all the mounting gubbins was concealed behind the lamp - also it keeps the height of the lamp low.

Prince of Darkness indeed, but I used to find my Square 8s quite decent. They supplemented the 5.75' Cibie halogen headlights I had on my Triumph 2000, so they can't have been that bad.

Would I do better to try mounting them upside down under the bumper - perhaps hiding the mountings behind the numberplate? Don't want them too vulnerable really.

The Marchel lights we're fitted to our T16S in 1985! The large round ones, 207 800 004.

Where can i buy a set of them from please?? Will Saab still do them??

Cheers,

Dan
