comparing the Saabflight TD04 to the GT28RS 0.64
first off, both are great long rpm torque range driving turbo,s producing boost / torque from 2000 rpm working fine by 2500 rpm and fully loaded and delivering by 3000 up to 6K - any comparison comments should be read as minor as they are close in overall performance.
Seat of the pants sugest the SFTD04 has a bit more at the top end and the GT picks up and enables the rev,s to climb quicker in the mid range
however my comparisons are masked due to diffrent ECU programs and the fact that the GT28 car has a lightened flywheel
Technically both are plug n play on std manifold, obviously the SFTD04 works with the std oil n water hoses, but fitting flexy lines to suit either is well within your capable hands.
both can be mapped to give a torque delivery that will give you enough bottom end seriously drift the back end of your car (what fun your going to have) or you can build them up gently to a strong top end and save the strain on the gearbox
Ref: the balance chain - just take it out and do away with them, you can remove them to reduce weight but you have to remember to plug off the oil ways. Whydisconnect it ?, well the chain and it,s associated sprockets could be a failure point, especially if your building a faster reving / higher rpm engine, you,ll gain an improvment in engine pick up - as per a lightened flywheel, and there will be a minor wheel hp gain, down side is possible additional vibration, most folks that remove them don,t comment on this being an issue
Fuel pump: Walbro 255 ( is that the right spec? brain freeze)
for 350hp then the 430 green injectors
For boost control, look your going to end up using T5 suite, in there is instructions to mod. the ECU to run the later T7 apc versus the T5, this would be a good alternative, more reliable, faster response and half the price to buy
On engine mapping, there are plently top class pro,s = SAABflight and Maptune rank up there, and or there is self mapping ref: T5suite, if you go this route there is plenty guys on here using it with good success, in fact, by the very nature of the enthusiast,s regularily corresponding on this forum will be more than helpfull with all apsects of this. The real T5 suite guru,s exist in their own forum and are equally helpfull but maybe at times they speak in a diffrent language ( I think it,s still English but it,s all a bit hexidecimilightous

Add "Practical Performance Monthly" to your subscription, they are presently fitting a 2.3 into an Escort M2 so should be some good tips
And add
