Trade Terms and conditions

As detailed in the site's General Terms & Conditions of use, all members posting as a representative of any form of trading entity (as judged by site Admin) must register with UKSaabs as a "Registered Trader".

1. There is no charge to become a Registered Trader.
2. Registered Traders have exclusive access to the Trade Section.
3. See revised details below
4. See revised details below
5. Registered Traders are permitted in their signature, a brief (< 3 lines, plain text) advert of their services/contact details. Beyond that, Traders are reminded of the general T&C of the site that states
Advertising, whether implicit (as judged by us) or explicit, is not permitted in the open forum.

6. Registered Traders are offered the facility of banner advertising. Please see below for details of our Banner Advertising facility.

Anybody breaching theses simple rules risk having their Registered Trader status (which implicity includes their General Membership) revoked. Any questions please contact one of the moderators or Tech-II.

Banner Advertising
Banners will randomly cycle through all paid up advertisers and will cost £30 per month per banner, with a 3 month minimum. Payment can be made monthly, quarterly or yearly as preferred (to those paying quarterly a discounted rate of £80 per quarter will apply, and to those paying yearly a rate of £300 per annum will apply, both if paid in advance). Payment can be made by BACS transfer (bank details available on request) or by cheque made payable to UKSaabs sent to UKSaabs, Corsebauld, Auchenblae, Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire, AB30 1UD.

The above payment methods are preferred, but payment for smaller amounts (monthly fees, donations from sales etc) can be made by paypal to uksaabs@corsebauld.co.uk. Again, Any questions please contact one of the moderators or Tech-II.

Further details can be had from any of the admin team on request

April 2010 Update/Refesh

Now, the basic rule will be that there will be NO advertising, whether subliminal or otherwise, in any area of the forum except for the classifieds. (This applies to all users, not just the traders). Any that is seen will be deleted, and no explanation pm sent as it is a fairly basic and simple rule. Like all rules, there will of course be one exception, and that is when it is in direct answer to a direct question. If in the workshop or other section someone asks “what do I need” or similar, it will be perfectly acceptable to reply with “You need xxx which I can supply” BUT only if a price is quoted. This will hopefully stimulate competition and benefit all.

Each trade advertiser will be allowed to post in the general classifieds, but only as long as the following conditions are met:

ONE post max per day per section per trader, up to a maximum of FIVE posts per section. This will stop swamping of the classifieds but still allow trader access.

Strictly one item (or set like hoses or car breaking) per advert.

NO repeats until the autoprune has removed the original post

If an item is sold, mark it sold in the title, and one of the mod team will delete it as soon as it is noticed (In effect it is likely to be within a couple of hours). Once it has been deleted, it can then be replaced with a new advert, but again subject to the one a day and max of 5 posts rules.

No replying to adverts with PM me or similar – only replies confirming availability AND price will be acceptable.

Consistent offenders will be prohibited from posting in the classifieds, or the site, for periods from 1 week to permanent depending on the individual case. If a trader is banned, they will be notified by the moderation team.

So, there we have what we hope will be the final traders rules. I appreciate that they are not perfect, but are the best compromise we can come up with. We hope that you will find them acceptable, and that you will continue to use UKSaabs for the benefit of all. I feel that the rules are clear and un-ambiguous, if you have any questions or comments, they will be welcome by pm. At least now we hope that everyone will be clear on what is and isn’t allowed.

Thank you

The UKS Team
