Hello,

Selling my Saab 9-3 convertible.

Not getting much interest and looking for advice on how much I should be expecting to get for it (considering it needs work).
Or the best way forward with finding it a new home.

Being realistic I’m beginning to consider scrapping of the car.

Cheers

Maybe your location is putting prospective purchasers off, Graeme?

This time of the year - maybe just a little later, depending on the weather - is traditionally a good time to offer a convertible to the market. Your asking price does not seem unreasonable to me, even as a project, and as you say, it does seem a shame to scrap a potentially savable car. I've had my own '06 'vert for over six years and can attest to both their durability and year round usability.

Regards, John.

In addition, this forum my not be the best place to sell what is a fairly 'ordinary' Saab. The majority of members will, by definition, already have at least one Saab and not looking for another. And if anyone is looking for one, they tend to be wanting either something at the upper end of whatever model it is or else a 'project' classic.

Its worth no more than scrap value.

The market is flooded with cheap verts with good MOTs at the moment.

I have seen cars sell for less than £500 with a few months MOT remaining.

See what your local scrapyards will offer.

It might be worth waiting a couple of months or so. Last July the Saab 9-3 convertible was the best selling used car in the UK.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I’ll give it a little more time to see if I can find a new owner for it, before committing to the alternative.
