What are C900 Turbo's worth now?

I'm in a situation where I may sell on my T16s purely from a point of space and my own well being (too many projects and not enough time), I emphasize may, this certainly not a for sale ad but looking around for ideas there seems to be so many different values, almost rocket ship prices for good ones and yet others still hanging around at 2-3 thousand? The point I'm getting at is we all know what they're advertised at but what are they actually selling for?
Mine is by no means the best, biggest elephant is gearbox, whilst it changes and runs fine it does have a rattle that it has had for over a year but as a car it drives well, no other noises or weird sensations and it has 9 months MoT, Carlsson wheels in almost perfectly good condition (albeit in all over grey instead of the diamond cut rims) and perfectly roadworthy so what is the market for roadworthy but definitely a project T16s?
I guess this thread is a first step to preparing myself for something I don't want to do but may end up having to

You have hit the nail on the head with regards prices, asking prices are not necessarily (and are very rarely) actual selling prices.

There are lots of optimistic prices based on what some see other cars advertised for. If some of these hopeful sellers did a bit of research, they would find that a lot of these cars have been advertised for months and sometimes years at these speculative prices.
Beware of those that are talking up prices, they will tell you are car is worth lots more but they are not the ones willing to put their hands in their pockets or they are just talking up values for when they decide to sell.

The people that know the true values are the people that have recently sold or purchased similar cars, not those who have never owned one or have no intention of selling (yet) but like to talk up prices.

I often say to people, price it at what you would be satisfied with selling it for, if you have priced it too high it will not sell. If you have priced it too low you will get lots of interest, but at least you will have sold it for what you wanted for it.

Some might say ''I could have got more'' but could they? There is no guarantee it will have sold at a higher asking price :corn:

In my personal opinion and it is from constantly watching the market and noting the cars that actually are not on the market for too long.
For an average condition T16S that requires a bit of work your looking at anywhere between £4k & £7k. For a quick sale your looking at a midway figure on that, if your willing to be on the market for a little bit longer then its the top end.

Premium cars will fetch lots more and will always find a market, but they are just that, premium top end cars.
There are many with rose tinted specs that think their cars fit that description, but they would not pass muster on a side by side inspection.

Location often has a bearing on prices, many expect the right car to pop up on their doorstep. Those types of buyers will often pay more for a lesser car if its 10 miles down the road, than pay the same for a better car that's 300 miles away.

I've got to admit I'd easily pay much more for something 10 miles down the road than one 100 miles away just purely on convenience....

Anyway I did have a figure in my head what the asking price I would ask and I agree with what you're saying, just getting a 2nd opinion I suppose, but I have so many differing thoughts, should I sell, should I keep, should I rent a garage and hopefully get the time in the future to do to the car what it deserves but that'd be years, why can lumps of metal platic and rubber be so emotive to us? Think I've owned it for too long lol.... Even my Charade GTti is potentially on the chopping block, had that 18 years but with the problems I've had recently with it I've lost confidence with it, maybe this is where my loss of interest and passion stems from... Anyway that sort of talk is for the chat area which I may start a thread up on :corn:

Year, colour, mileage, leather or cloth, good or no history, body condition, etc, etc, etc can have a huge bearing on the price.
