1998 Saab 9-3 SE Genuine 47000 miles known history 23 Saab main dealer service stamps
in excellent condition but just failed mot on abs warning light that actually came on going for the MOT . It's been stood in my garage since October.
What's it worth?

I'm not sure on the value, but I would have thought the ABS issue is likely a wheel sensor.

However, if you do come up with a price, I might know someone interested, depending on your location and if it's a convertible or not.

Without an MOT, as a minimum, you're looking at little more than scrap value, 'dilly125', so £300 or so, I'm afraid.

With a year's ticket, and in good usable condition, £1000 or so, perhaps a little more if, as 'deviator' said, it is a convertible and the sun is shining!

Cars tend to deteriorate when left standing for an extended period and this may be why the ABS is playing up.

On our 99 car, the hood rams were leaking, which can be an expensive repair, and underbody corrosion was also raising it's head, hence the importance of an MOT to prospective purchasers. Having previously been bitten in that respect myself, I would strongly recommend that interested parties satisfied themselves on those points before purchase.

Only exceptional examples make more than two thousand, or so.

As always, that is only my view; others may differ.

Regards, John.

That's made my decision a lot easier, MOT it is then. The car is in excellent condition and I would not even consider scrapping it.
Looks like I will be getting my tool box out very soon. :haynes:
