Found this advert posted recently. Original plates in the boot on show with what I presume a private plate fitted. Seller says its registered as a 2004 car though. I had a look on the MOT checker and it's not moved much between MOT'S but the website also says 1st registered on 30th Dec 2004.

Thoughts please.

Looks odd.

If the P reg is the original plate, it's 1996/7

The picture shows it's a T5 engine which is right, and continued into the early 9-3 cars. But, either the ignition cassette has been painte black, or it's the wrong one. Should be red.

If it was first registered in 2004 in the UK, it might have been imported. Imported cars will have a year appropriate registration allocated, which would explain the P plate.

So, probably imported from a country with RHD cars, unless a lot of money was spent converting it.

If you look on the gov.uk vehicle tax checker, it says Date of First Registration was May 1997. Date of manufacture 1997. DAte of first registration with DVLA December 2004.

So likely to have been imported from a RHD country with a different registration system. Possibly nor far. Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of Man...

Definitely a 1997 model year car - the rear decor panel and newer Vikings are a clue to that.

It's probably like my Laser Red 9-3 Aero, 2003 model bought in 2004, registered in the UK in September 2009, got registered as LF53TNZ...

I contacted the dealer and it was imported from Jersey in 04. It only has one service stamp though but is confident that it's been looked after and no corrosion underneath.
