Hi,

I have used my own calculation to determine the list price for the car. I am, however open to serious offers below the asking price.

Just the purchase price when I bought the car was a great deal more than other Saab 9-3 Aero Anniversary's (listed on eBay). I found a good example albeit needing a considerable amount of work doing to bring it up to the quality it deserves to be. I didn't start off without knowing what I was taking on, albeit going over by a fair amount in what I estimated I wanted to spend out on the car to get it to the great state it is now, a great drive, and a great example.

So, using my own calculation (not dependant on what I spent out on the car), and taking into account the considerable amount of time, work and money gone into getting the 'Saab 9-3 Aero Anniversary 2.0T Petrol Manual' to the great condition it is now in, the price I came to is the list price of £17,780.00.

I hope this has answered your query, being interested for the money, or not.

Regards,

Joe

I think it's rather nice that he values the car that much.

It is an unfortunate fact that bringing a car up to showroom condition, unless it is a classic or collectible, adds not one penny to its value. Of course it will achieve the top price for its age and mileage but no more. Fitting a new £1,000 exhaust to my NG9-5 made no difference to what I might have received as a trade in. Not fitting it would have reduced the value.

If he thinks he is going to recover what he spent he is in for a nasty surprise.

It's also nowhere near showroom condition either, you can see the rust on the arches.

I just reduced my (considerably less rusty) wagon as I've had no interest at £2k, so I wouldn't imagine his inbox is full of offers

Been there, done that and as they say 'got the T shirt'. There is always a ceiling price on a cars value in the market place, unless it's a 'Fast Ford' apparently, where all sense of reason seems to have gone out the window......

Price has probably gone up because of inflation...

This one is a more realistic price... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386275159945

Obviously it's back up for sale, same wording and same price. You would have thought he has realised its not worth the cash. Clown.

Well another two months have passed and it's still unsold. I dont know what it is about the seller and his items but some including his 9³ are way way over priced.

It could be that the seller is just being bloody minded, maybe because he has been told that the car is not worth what he was selling it for originally or a similar conversation with someone.

You often get people like that who go on such crusades.

I had the audacity to tell this chap advertising these wheels on eBay that they were not Aero's but ''soft spokes''.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296280906440 ... ition=3000

He basically said he did not care and that it only took one person to believe that they were. I replied that the majority of enthusiasts would recognise that they were not Aero's

He then added the bit about ''Saab enthusiasts will love this Add'' on his listing.

My conversation with him was two years ago, well nobody has been duped yet and he continues to repeatedly relist them for £100 each.

Yep same conversation with this seller. I pointed out the wheels were wrong and his reply "they are upgraded anniversary alloys"....say no more. He changed his ad though.
