1983 900 GL

Thanks, firstly, for having this section of the Forum. I’d like to put an ad in the classified section for our ’83 900, but I’ve no idea of its worth. I want to sell it here rather than an auction site as it’s got more chance of going to an enthusiast, so need to set a fair price.
It’s a Y reg GL, cream, & passed its last MoT February 2018 with no advisories, and was then tucked away in dry storage. Mileage just shy of 80,000.
Paintwork is mostly good, though the bonnet is pockmarked, especially at the front; one wing edge (o/s rear) is quite rusty, rest OK – door bottoms look good. Rear doors still have some of their polythene covers. Roof lining gives an Indian head massage, but the rest of the interior is good.
Engine runs fine, though there’s a bodge on the choke mechansim.
It’s a very solid car, & in many ways I prefer it to our GM 900, but long trips to visit and transport grandchildren mean convenience & speed win out, though I did get round to fitting rear seatbelts.
Happy to give any other details or photos.

Taking into account a C900 GLS that had been off the road for a while, but with lower miles and in what looked to be better condition recently made £3133 on eBay.

Plus asking prices for similar cars on C&C and Facebook.

Your looking at between £800 & £1.5k maximum.

Condition being all.

With a fresh MOT you'd obviously get more.

OK - many thanks.

tbh, it hadn't occurred to me to book it in for an MoT - I think that'll be my next step.

There was also a recent 4dr SC that sold at a Leslie Morris classic auction for £2,860.

That was in very nice condition with MOT and with just 55k on the clock.

With a fresh MOT your looking at my top estimate of £1500 give or take a hundred.

As is, £800 is probably where its at, again give or take a hundred or two.

Quick update: MoT failed on a couple of things - a front wheel bearing & headlamp alignment - with a few advisories, so there's a new bearing on its way to get that sorted.

Thanks again for the advice.

No problem, that's what this section is for.

Once you get it sorted why not stick it in the classifieds with an asking price.

As per the forum rules this part of the forum should not be used for promoting or selling.

Yup - thanks - that was my intention. The purpose of this section is made very clear!
