Would be lovely if as good as it is portrayed. Perhaps 'caveat emptor' would be appropriate due to lack of ebay seller feedback (none), unconvincing autotrader feedback and silly mistakes in the ads e.g. "automatic climate control".

Autotrader Ad says comes with ACC, no it doesn't.

Looks nice but without a registration to check the MoT history, no thanks.

In fact, is that not looking like a CS, rather than a CSE? Don't think the seller knows very much about their car, perhaps hoping that potential purchaser will not be terribly knowledgeable.

This one was being sold local to me a couple of years ago for very little money.
It’s been through the hands of a couple of traders and has gained nearly £6k on the asking price.

I'd agree with that, cloth upholstery, no ACC, don't be fooled by the walnut dash and cruise control because cruise was easily fitted by changing the indicator stalk. Some how it doesn't seem right for a CSE.

J-reg was a bit more than a stalk change. Needed a controller, loom, vacuum pump, pressure switches, bellows and tubes.

I'd be most surprised if it had the self levelling rear dampers. That was a rare option on any model.

I wouldn't put any store by the walnut dash or cruise control. My CS has those. Nor the velour seats or manual heater controls - my CSE has velour and my other half's Griffin had manual heater controls.
I believe, however, that the CSE always had colour-coded bumpers while the first CS models had grey.
I think it matters little what you call it, though. It's what it has and hasn't got that matters. And its condition, of course, which can't really be judged from the photos except that the arches don't look rusty.
The self-levelling rear suspension definitely looks aftermarket. I wasn't aware in any case that it was ever available from Saab on the hatchback models but I might be wrong.

It has the older style AC on a switch, like a 900. The self levelling thing is aftermarket ...

Here we go, sold for £1,927 back in July 2020.
A bit more than I remembered but a lot less than the current asking price.

Reg number is J900 OAM.

Lay up mentioned in ads backed up by MOT history.

Definitely a CS not CSE from the history page.

This isn't self-levelling suspension though, is it? As 'llamamall' rightly said earlier, it is an aftermarket manually adjustable system, almost certainly fitted at the same time as the tow-bar. I suspect that the car has done some serious towing - caveat emptor indeed!

From the recent discussion in the What's it worth? thread, I would have said that was a £1500 to £2000 motor-car, maybe a little more on account of the low mileage - although that isn't necessarily a benefit if it represents a large number of short journeys with lots of cold starts and the engine never getting warm.

Regards, John.

As stated earlier in the thread it made £1,927 at auction nearly 2 years ago.

I'd say its value is between £2.5k & £3k.

Originally for sale local to me just over 2 years ago for less than £1k without an MOT.

Its been through the hands of two dealers since the auction in 2020, both of which have been asking far more than its really worth.
Hence why its not been purchased by a private buyer yet.
