Old Motoring Magazines

Does anyone know if there is a market for old motoring magazines?
I am moving and having a clear out. In the loft I have about 10 boxes of car magazines from the late 1960's and 1970's (including things like the first couple of years of Hot Car, lots of Car Mechanics, Practical Motorist, Motor Sport etc). I am looking for a way of getting rid of them, preferably without them going for recycling although that may be how it ends up. I have given a lot of stuff to the local Hospice Charity but I don't think they take magazines.

I have about 10 years' worth of Cars and Car Conversions. I threw mine away when our spare bedroom ceased to be spare. A friend gave me his some time later. I tried to get rid on various forums, offering issues for the cost of postage, but they are all still here.

As you ask if there is a ''Market'' for them, take a look at eBay completed listings if your looking to see if they have any value.

You may find any issues with SAAB content may get some interest on here. If you have any with such content, stick them either in the classifieds or Free to Collect.

Moving this thread to ''Whats it Worth'' as the question was ''is there a market''.

I have just taken a look at eBay for completed listings on one of the magazine you mention ''Practical Motorist''.

The completed listings have numerous unsold issues listed.

The only issues that seem to sell for the odd £1 or so are those from the 1930's.

So if your just looking to get rid, then a Free to Collect is probably your best bet.
