Something like this looks semi-decent, but is just a mock up.

Absolutely!
£500 and spend the other £1,000 sorting the paintwork back to “normal”.
I get the impression that black/blue is trying to hide something.

Seems like they had a front & rear end smash so just got rattle cans to spray between these rather than paying to get the bumpers sprayed.
If true then hidden damage awaits behind those bumpers in all likelihood.
