My belt snapped due to water pump failure. All parts replaced including rockers.

How can I be certain that I am not 180deg out on the timing?

Original position was lost when belt snapped.

1.9 TID DOHC

The car wont run mate.

If you are up and running with no issues you are OK.

You can check if you really want to by stripping down to the crank pulley, aligning the crank pulley on the outer casing mark and then see where the cam pulley mark is - it should be at the approx. 1 - 2 o'clock.

Hi Ant, I've just joined the forum. I have a Saab 9-3 Tid 8v and am based in Heston. I am interested in getting the Timing belt changed. Is this something you can do? How can I get in touch with you?

Also, I get a rough first start every morning. Is this something that can be sorted at the same time?

The car is a 2007 8v TiD with 158k on the clock. It had a timing belt changed in March 2012 at 69k so is now due a change.
It also had the clutch and Dual Mass fly-wheel replaced a month later.

Also, a friend of mine with a Vectra TiD 16v also needs his timing belt replaced. So would like to arrange this as well.

Can you indicate the parts cost and labour for 120bhp Saab & 150bhb Vectra?

Probably best to keep pricing and personal data off the public forum. When you have made 5 posts, you can talk to Ant via private message. So three more messages. Even rubbish ones will do.
