2006 Saab 9-5 1.9 TiD current drain from fuse 8

For 9000, NG900, 9-3 all models & 9-5 all models.
As well as non - SAAB models.

2006 Saab 9-5 1.9 TiD current drain from fuse 8

With my Saab turned off and locked I'm getting ~100mA drain on Fuse 8 which according to the handbook is 'luggage compartment lighting; door lighting; circulation pump*; SAP*; SID'. I’m trying to think what could be causing fuse 8 to take any power, it doesn’t AFAIK have the optional circulation pump or whatever SAP is. As I have a Dame Edna 9-5 I don’t have a SID as that’s built into the instrumentation (Fuse 17) although this description came from my handbook.

Anyone know what could be causing the draw?

You do have a SID. It’s clipped to the back of the instrument panel.

Is this current draw causing a battery problem?

How are you measuring the current? Several car systems stay active for many minutes after you lock the car.

SAP is wrong. Fuse 8 feeds the SPA. That's the parking sensor control unit in the boot and parking sensors in the back bumper.

Thanks for the reply, I meant SPA, that’s a typo on my part. The SPA is permanently powered then? The car has tow bar wiring spliced into what looks like the plug Saab provided for adding a tow bar. Where about would I find the SPA module?

Depends on whether you have a saloon or an estate. In my estate, it's under the boot floor right behind the back seat. I'm not 100% sure where it is in the saloon, but I think it is on the left hand side behind the back seat, but on the wheel arch.
