Feel free to remove if deemed unnecessary, but I put together a spreadsheet which used the DVSA API to check all of the above registrations to see how many are truly left on the road given how this thread is nearly 14 years old. Of the 160 entries above:
3 No longer are registered to a Saab
1 Has an invalid registration
1 Confirmed scrapped (I am sure there are many more with a scrappage certificate, but this cannot be checked for free)
38 No longer have information held by the DVLA (Plate changes, or long since scrapped)
74 Currently SORN
19 Untaxed
23 Taxed
75 Have an MOT which last expired > 2 years ago (last MOT conducted > 3 years ago)
In short, as of right now (07/05/2024) there are currently 22 cars on the road, TAX'd and MOT'd. If we allow for cars that have been MOT'd within the last 4 years but aren't currently taxed, that gives us the following 46 cars. For reference, how many left reports 22 AUTO and 81 MANUAL cars as licensed. I'll update this list in a few months to account for those that are kept SORN over winter.
