C900 T16 in silver with Airflow kit fitted.

This C900 has previously been advertised on C&C and Facebook.

As you can see from the description the seller is a man of few words which includes responses to enquiries.

I made enquiries about it several months ago but the seller did not have the curtesy to respond, I've heard and seen others who have enquired have the same response.

Still on C&C, again very sparing by way of information in the ad.

Do they answer the phone and communicate enough to arrange to view the car? If I had £10k to spend on a C900 I would probably speculatively make the trip up to look at it and get questions answered in person (and take a closer look at the drivers door, which seems somehow not quite right in photos).

Sometimes people aren't really serious about selling, I have found recently that some sellers of more modern Saabs become quite evasive when an actual visit is suggested. It suggests that they don't really want to sell, or at least not to someone that is bringing the Tech II with them! I always ask first if I can do that as it weeds out those cars with a known issue that the seller is obscuring and hoping won't be spotted.

I had actually seen this car at a previous meet prior to 2020 and its by no means perfect.
The current seller first listed it on a Faceache group sometime ago.

I and others who were asking pertinent questions with regards to particular C900 issues did not receive any response, yet he was responding to the nice car mate type posts.
He was also asked by several people for an asking price, but those questions did not receive responses either.

Because of this evasiveness in responding to knowledgeable questions the alarm bells were ringing for me, so I looked elsewhere.
I ended up buying a very nice blue T8 instead :D
Which by the way I did not view because I knew the car and its previous owners, so I knew it was a good one. The deal was struck on the phone for that one and I had it collected.

I have purchased several cars blind over the years, but I also not bothered pursuing many more as the sellers were somewhat evasive.

My blind purchases so far have in the main been as described/expected and trouble free.

Having owned, run, repaired and broken (I have never broken a 99  ) many 99's, 90's, C900's and 9000's over the years I know the questions to ask and where to look, so that helps

For £10k I would want a lot of detailed info on a prospective car. You don't spend that kind of money on spec. Perhaps he's been messed about by people, but nonetheless better to be full and open with the description and questions I find.

Don't like the painted body kit or the blue/red combination personally.

Sorry, I meant silver bodywork and red (orange) interior. Silver/grey would have seemed a better colour combination.

Silver and Bokhara trim, the best colour combination for the original T16S 8)

I see! I was wondering if I was seeing the car wrong!

I quite like silver with the bokhara (maroon). Each to their own though!

Final bid on this was £4,500, less than half the price the seller was looking for elsewhere.
