And it's not as if your journey was all motorways either. Hopefully some of the twisties provided some fun on the way.

In context and a fair few motorway miles* I could be in Germany in that time or halfway down France. That's some car you have.

Believe me, with the gearing of the 99 EMS, avoiding motorways as much as possible is best.
A fraction over 3000rpm at 50mph (indicated speed, so about 47/48mph @ 3000rpm)

It's been a year since this hit the road,
I still get a laugh when I remember it was like this

After it got finished it just became my 'go to' for a classic to jump in, drive to the beach and park anywhere, it's lovely.
It's rust protected to death and just gets used whatever the weather. If it rots away I can just weld it up again, right?

Me too, it couldn't be replicated if we tried! and it does mean that if anyone ever opens a door against it I'll never notice. Funny thing is nobody ever parks beside it! It makes me smile every time I look at it.

As we're still working I'm doing a 40ish mile round trip, the van was getting boring so I took the 99 a few times. Cheers up a gloomy situation :D

This will probably be my last set of photos for this 99, someone else will get to enjoy this one whilst I get to grips with a newcomer.
It's been a fair journey and I've loved every second of this car.

This car sold very quickly and attracted a surprising amount of interest, from near and far.
And that's it away down south. I had a huge amount of fun with it, and I'd do it again tomorrow.

Well, I may have another 4dr making an appearance, as well as the orange one but the EMS is on the road so that's always an option....
I dug out the 2 stroke yesterday but I'm starting to think it's beyond my means :(

I know you really liked the DKM Ian, but think of it this way, you've returned another 99, that probably would have been scrapped (if anyone sensible had got hold of it :P ) to the road and into good useable condition.
Yes, it might not be a "show'n'shine" winner, but it's now a good solid, reliable car.
Fingers crossed, the new owner will appreciate it as much as you have done and will get many years of use from it.

You have KWS and JSS to keep you occupied for a while now.
