Are the forged conrods dimensionally the same as the standard rods or are they specials to go with your forged pistons and long stroke crank?

They are exact copies of the standard rod I had made some time ago and they will accept standard pistons, the gudgeon pin bush will need to be altered to accept the Mahle forged pistons.

Again I expect I'm missing something but I'm assuming to get to 2.5 litre you must be using a crank with at least 90mm stroke? So with standard length rods won't this poke the pistons out the top of the block by 11mm? I realise you could get some of this back with reduced compression height on the new pistons but not 11mm surely?

Yes, my mistake, I'm still thinking in 2 litre, I will be using the forged 90mm rods.

Custom camshaft has arrived from Catcams, along with springs, retainers and lash caps. Springs currently being adjusted for the correct seat pressure. Block is still in Sweden :lol:

Looks like quite a wild camshaft, tarmac rally / race spec ?

Its a bit racier than what I have now, although the way the car currently runs with the DTAS40 etc I could have used more cam without sacrificing too much.
The new cam is a similar profile to what has been used in a 220 bhp Pinto engine.

The modifications on the new cylinderhead are slowly drawing to a close.
The Catcam was sent back and a better base circle was added to the design.
Cam carrier needed some extra work, which is not unusual when fitting a cam like this.

The Peugeot buckets have no dimple to help keep the shim in place, Saab shims cannot be used anyway with these buckets, lash caps need to be installed, this is more involved when adjusting the clearances, there is not much room for error!
