Car Models: 9-5 Aero
Folks

It's with much sadness that I'm putting my Saab up for sale. It's been a great family car and now it's time for someone else to continue using it.

For sale, my 2004 Saab 9-5 Aero Manual with 120k miles. Just been serviced and MOT’d until August 2021.

5 speed manual, Espresso Black with tan interior, heated front and rear seats, electric front seats with drivers side memory, auto-wipers, folding mirrors, Xenon headlights, rear parking sensors and rain sensing wipers.

5 owners including myself and I have owned it since November 2014.

Service history as follows:

27/09/2004 4 miles Pre-delivery service
21/09/2005 16307 miles County Saab, Inverness
17/10/2006 28725 miles County Saab, Inverness
10/09/2007 37500 miles County Saab, Inverness
12/09/2008 46210 miles County Saab, Inverness
03/09/2009 57239 miles Galaxy Garage, Inverness
11/04/2014 66458 miles Central Saab Specialist, Bonnyrigg
13/05/2015 72380 miles Central Saab Specialist, Bonnyrigg
19/04/2016 85213 miles Central Saab Specialist, Bonnyrigg
17/03/2017 94021 miles Central Saab Specialist, Bonnyrigg
20/03/2018 104029 miles Central Saab Specialist, Bonnyrigg
25/02/2019 113621 miles Central Saab Specialist, Bonnyrigg
04/08/2020 119375 miles Central Saab Specialist, Bonnyrigg

During my ownership, I have had the following work carried out:

1. Genuine Aero turbo installed along with cobra inlet pipe.
2. Oil sump dropped and cleaned.
3. Drive belt replaced.
4. Front outer CV joints x2 replaced.
5. Front anti-roll bar links replaced.
6. Front and rear discs and pads replaced.
7. Rear shock absorbers replaced.
8. Trailing arm bushes cleaned, lubricated and rebuilt.
9. Track rod ends replaced.
10. Gear selector seal replaced.
11. O/S/R brake caliper replaced.
12. Tow bar fitted for bike rack.
13. New Nexen front tyres fitted 19/03/2020

With a car that is almost 16 years old, there are some issues as follows:

1. The car was burning oil and producing white smoke when I first bought it and I assumed it just needed a new turbo fitted. This work was carried out by Central Saab Specialist in Edinburgh but the issues remained. Martin advised that the next step would be to remove the cylinder head and carry out some testing. He had already worked on another 9-5 Aero with the same issue and the owner had spent a small fortune but to no avail. Hearing this, and taking into account the price I paid for the car, I decided to just top up the oil and this is what I have been doing since 2015.

2. The roof was painted at some point previous to me but it wasn’t a great job. The clear coat has peeled in large sections on the roof and also some small sections on the bonnet as can be seen in the pictures.

3. Rust at the usual places at the rear arches – see photographs.

4. Dent in the corner of the rear bumper - see photograph.

5. Scuff on the corner of the front bumper - see photograph.

I have a folder full of service documents, receipts and MOT certificates.

2 sets of keys.

Private plate does not come with the car and is currently in the process of being changed via the DVLA.

Located near Falkirk, Central Scotland.

Looking for £750.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will endeavour to get back in contact ASAP:

James

Price reduced to £500. It's too good to scrap plus just been serviced and MOT'd. A runaround for someone for a year!!

Hey mate, I don't think I can PM due to low post count, but I'd be interested in the car. Maybe if you start PM I can reply?

I'm only in Glasgow, so easy enough to pop through on train or whatever!

Thanks,

Gavin
