Just a reminder for those that don't visit the meetings forum that often:

Once again UKSaabs will have a stand at the NEC, stand number 5-828 and again we are next to the SOC so between us we will have one of the largest stands at the show. This is a great show and I look forward to it every year.

As normal, we can provide a code that will enable UKS members to get a discount on tickets for the Sat and Sun, drop me a PM if you want to take advantage of the code.

If you are going to the show, please stop by the stand and say hello

Who's going to be at this year's show? (if it's not cancelled because of the Coronvirus outbreak).
I'm certainly hoping to be there.

I'll be there. With any luck we might just make it before the ban starts on public gatherings! I'm cracking on to get it ready anyway.

I have booked the train for Saturday. I'll wait until a bit nearer the time to get tickets for the show. I have a dose of some lurgy at the moment and am staying at home. No one else in the house is ill, no fever, so just man flu. If "not going out" is the same as "self isolating", then that's what I suppose I'm doing...

I am not going, Made the decision to avoid public Gatherings. I have too many Family Members who are Frail, Have weak or No immune Systems due to Chemo etc

I would be surprised if they didn't cancel the Event to be honest.

From Practical Classics FaceBook page..
"A lot of you are waiting for some guidance. This all we can say for now. PLEASE SHARE.
We are very aware of the concerns over our show and, over the past week, behind the scenes we have been working with event organisers Clarion to create a workable way forward. There will be a full statement with guidelines for attendees and exhibitors about the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show very soon.
The international crisis we are all part of means we have to focus on looking after each other, especially those of us in vulnerable groups or whose relatives or loved ones might be. Please share this message to anyone who might be attending or thinking of attending and make sure you check with the show website and social media outlets on Monday."

Bum! I held off buying the tickets for the show, but my rail tickets are non-refundable :( And even if they were the "admin charge" would cost almost 70% of the cost. I will keep a close eye on the timetable and running times on-line, and claim a refund if the train is late.

IMPORTANT UPDATE ON HOTEL BOOKINGS!!!!

For all those that have booked a non-refundable/fixed booking at Travelodge, they are allowing you to defer your booking to a future date.

https://www.travelodge.co.uk/

It may cost a little bit more, given the offers that you may have booked with are not yet available, but..... The PC CC&R Show is already confirmed for 2021 as 26th-28th March.

Given that it is uncertain when this year's show will be happening, and unlikely to be announced before the actual intended event, I suggest you all rebook for next year now.

At least we'll have more money in our pockets for the evening meals (Curry on Saturday!!!) and bar bills this time next year

Time to use the call centre number? :wall: :wall:

Well, having just wasted £2.47 on their premium line waiting, I refuse to pay any more! :wall:

I will give their geographical number (general reception open from 9-5) and won't be taking no for an answer given the current climate. How the still get away with charging 13p/min at a time like this? Shysters!! :wall:

I'd suggest everyone else looking to change their booking to next year, call 01844 358 500, rather than the 08719 number. :corn:

Organisers have said they will announce the rescheduled date by 23rd March latest so that will give us time to rebook the hotel.

Lemans 24hour has been postponed to 19-20 September.

Ok, I'll hold off trying to use the booking for next year until the rescheduled date is announced.

I'll hold off too. I refuse to pay anymore on premium rate numbers, and have had no response yet from my contact via the site last night.

Re: Le Mans, any news on the Classic?

As well as the ability to rebook, Travelodge are now offering a voucher to the value of your original booking.

Quote:
Saver Rate
If you have booked a non-refundable Saver Rate please find your options below:

Cancel Your Booking Online

You can cancel your Saver Rate booking and receive a Saver Rate Cancellation Voucher within a few working days after cancellation, redeemable for the same value. Please visit the Manage Booking section of our website to cancel your booking.

Seeing as the date is getting closer I have now cancelled my booking this way, I received my voucher code with the cancellation email.

Note you cannot redeem or change the booking within 24hrs of your scheduled stay. So redeem or change soonest.
