Quick update from me.
Can confirm myself and Gasman, waiting on confirmation from the Butler (MalcV) and sadly Parrish and Mrs Parrish cannot make it due to previous commitments. That at least frees up 2 spaces....
Will have menu choices shortly and will forward with deposits when I get them

The menu can be found at https://www.fourmile.co.uk/wp-content/u ... lyer-1.pdf and the deposit is £10/head.
Please PM or email me to confirm your selection for Starters, Mains and Sweets, by the end of the week.
The deposit can be paid (also by the end of the week) by PayPal linked to my email address (derek AT ddarnell DOT f9 DOT co DOT uk) or mention in your PM if you want to send me a cheque and I'll let you have my address.

Simples !
Derek
PS If you were on the Applecross run we may have met before, I was in the yellow 96 which met the group at Lochcarron.

Gather in the car park by midday for 'Saab inspection', meal at 12.30pm.

I guess that means about 7.45/8.00am departure from Oban ?

Anyone up for organising this (Kev, Lugy, Andy, others ?)

Slainte,
Derek

I could certainly propose a couple of suggestions, my first choice would be up the A93, probably the most scenic way up and likely the most quiet at that time. If the weather was a bit guff then the other option could be the A92 coastal road like a few of us did last time.

For the A93 option, I think it would be a 9am departure from Cowdenbeath for us, Halbeath Leisure Park or the Park and Ride would be an okay meeting point, maybe with a pick up point in Perth/Blairgowrie if needed.

A good route is up the A90 out of Dundee towards Aberdeen, then turn off for Fettercairn, and over the Cairn o'Mounth to Banchory, then up round the west side of Aberdeen along some nice wee country roads.
Top of the Cairn o' Mounth is 450 metres above sea level.
54 miles from Dundee to Banchory

The A93 from Blair up through Glenshee, past the ski centre at the Cairnwell, is also a great route, but might be weather dependent. The road is at around 650 metres above sea level, at the ski car park. (Highest A round in the UK).
94 miles from Dundee to Banchory.
I'd like to go that route to see what the snow cover is like, ie is it worth getting my skis oot yet!!

Perhaps wait till nearer the time, to see what the weather/snow cover/ temperatures are like.

When we were last at Kingswells (2 or 3 years ago), there was snow on the ground, and so there was no way of going over the Cairn o' Mounth, and I suspect the A 93 over the Cairnwell might have been tricky!!!

I don’t mind any route as I have never really been up that side of the country! I’m planning on staying in perth on the sat night so if there’s a few cars going by convoy give me a start point and time and I will be there, cheers

Assuming you're Stewart Craigie, then I've received your deposits (many thanks), but I've not had anything with your menu choices !?
Could you please PM, email or post here asap - cheers !

Yes, that's me, sorry I forgot that PayPal doesn't use my username.

Strange on the menu choices, I sent a pm yesterday. It was simply both for pate, Turkey and Christmas pud.

Thanks again
