I disconnected the battery to replace the steering wheel yesterday.

Having fitted the new wheel, and reconnecting the battery, the SID is showing RADIO CODE.

Is there an easy source for this (assuming it is the original radio)?

Bugger. How's that happened then? It's never done that before when the battery's been disconnected?

Mine used to be ok but last time i had it out had the same issue. I think Dan(Sounds) mentioned it is stored in chip which can go bad and i think he posted a You Tube video to explain how to change it.
Luckily, I have Tech 2 so just re-married it again and it was sorted but i have to do it each time now the battery is off.
Are you local to anyone who can do it?
Other option would be to locate a 'good' radio and then only have to do it once - for now.

A little story of the 'unexpected' with regard to flat batteries...
My Wife reported that her Fiesta had a flat battery.
Reluctant to buy another without checking it for myself, I cleaned up the connections, jump started it and set of with the jump start box in the boot.
Having given it a decent run down the A666 towards Bolton, I came off the slip road, turned right at the top to join the opposite carriageway & head home.
At the traffic light junction, the car stalled.
It was in the right turn lane of a very busy junction, which was more than a bit embarrassing, but ot to worry - I have the jump start box.
I popped the bonnet and hooked it up to the battery.
As the connection completed, there was a 'relay clunk' and the sound of electric motors.
Connecting the battery triggered the central locking to close and for the windows to wind themselves up - with my keys and mobile phone on the passenger seat.... A very hard learned lesson.

Well, following a shout out to the most local member with Tech 2 indicating their willingness to assist on T2 matters in the "Register of Tech 2 Owners" Topic, this evening I made the 120mile round trip to "pop" and see Nseries.

Around 2 minutes after arrival, he'd (checked for any fault codes and) Married my Radio back to the car. The Battery was then disconnected to check if it holds, and on reconnection, it is still working/"married", so all is good again.

Good to meet you tonight Nseries, and thanks again for your help, it's greatly appreciated. I enjoyed listening to The Human League : Reproduction CD on my way back, very loud

Further Update.

The alternator failed on my way back from The Limes on 23rd June ending with the battery only having 7V remaining when I stopped for recovery.

The battery has since been off overnight to charge before the re-recovery to the garage, and again since I should think when they worked on the alternator (replacement Voltage Regulator for £12 was all that was needed).

Happy to report the radio is still married :D
