Hi everyone. New here.

I have a saab 93 mk2 2006 with the amp in the rear boot. and the double DIN stereo, I think with 3 disc changer. It has a 3.5MM audio in jack on the front.

I wanted to know does anyone have any recommendations for a third party carplay unit?

I've looked at the Xtrons, ATOTO, Joying, and other chinese brands, but it's not clear if I can just plug and play these units, or what other steps are necessary to install one of this
devices.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Pioneer SPH-DA230DAB in my 9-5. Works well. Have a look at the www.incartec.co.uk site for harnesses between the head unit and the car loom.

I'm in the same boat right now looking for alternatives.

What I know I need includes:

Wiring including amp control and canbus decoder (basically any box on the steering controls seems to be fairly universal fit).
Seen some recent ones actually offer a connection to the phone controls, though how honest this is

Brackets.
Facia adapter because its not actually a double din (which is 7 inches, the gap is actually 8.6").

If going bigger than double din, being aware it'll likely interfere with the cup holder as it sits proud of the dash.

I have the full speaker system, but no CD player that I know of aside from the head unit.
It does beg the question if it will work.

Did also consider self build, but think I would struggle to match off the shelf products.

All research I have seen Atoto seem to have a good rep.
Though looking at other reviews I think the £300+ band is where to start looking, in terms of speed and functionality.

I note one of the videos they choose is off a guy on youtube who reviews a lot of these and other brand units.
