Hi, I have a saab9-5 Aero 2002 recently I had some work done on it and the battery was disconnected, SID is asking for a radio code which I have. It's the only coded radio I have ever had out of all of the Saabs I have owned. But it is not excepting it. A Saab dealer sent me to a radio engineer, he sent me back to Saab and they said because it's asking for a code they can't fix it.
Some suggested a radio from another saab, but it has to be unmarried or something, can anyone help me, please?

Change your Saab dealer! It needs TechII to re-marry the radio to the car, if your dealer doesn’t know that I’d go elsewhere.

As Geoff says it needs Tech 2 - five minute job. There is a register of Tech 2 owners on here who could assist depending where you are?

...and be aware that, if it is the original stereo, this will likely happen every time you have to disconnect power in the future due to the age of the stereo components. This is well-documented here and on other forums, and the solutions seem to be:
1) Replace/upgrade the stereo with a modern aftermarket unit (very popular)
2) Never disconnect the battery* (nice trick if you can do it)
3) Find and replace the faulty component in the stereo (whole can-of-worms thread here : https://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/inde ... bID=278109)

*If you have to replace the battery, clip a tandem battery across the clamps before taking the original out so the car still has power during the transplant.
