Who's up for reviving the heady days of the UKS stand at Combe next year??

UKSaabs is now registered as a Club for the Spring Action Day at Castle Combe, if you wish to attend, then you can sign up online at the Castle Combe website for reduced entry fees (under 17s go free) and any track time you may wish to book.
You can also enter the Show & Shine competitions and book the slow Parade Laps so you can take the whole family out on track :D

NOTE: You don't have to go out on track to enjoy this day out with like minded people. Just come along and show off your car on the club stand

Your members can now purchase club passes and reduced price track time for Spring Action Day. To do this they will need to select your club from the dropdown list in the club member zone, and input the club code.

This code is to be used by your club members only and we request that it is not shared with third parties. (If you do not to pass this code to your members you can book the whole club stand yourself)

The link you and your members will need to book club tickets is as follows: https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/shows/spring-action-day/02/04/2022/club-book

Earlybird track time is reduced automatically by £5 when you enter your club code. Earlybird discounts close six weeks prior to the event, so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment!

Please note that club passes and track time are sent out in the post roughly 3 weeks prior to the event.

If you wish to know what the code is to sign up please PM me or any other Admin/Moderator types.

Confirmed & Paid list.

Are you the Simon who used to organize the Saab days at combe?

If so i'm definitely in.

Still in anyway. :D

You're probably thinking of Nev, he was the poor brave soul who organised all those days out way back when. Now it looks a bit easier as you can sign up on the Combe website and as long as you have 4 signed and paid up cars you should have some space for a club stand.

Do they say how many cars they run in a session? I wouldn’t mind a 15 minute run out but thinking a Saab group maybe a little less....competitive, not sure how the diesel 9-3x suspension would be on track.

Would be good to see some XWD owners on track too :D

Found it eventually....

Exclusive track sessions are available if you'd like to book for your club: £700 for 28 cars for 15 mins.

Been to the last few action days this year and the track wasn't as packed as years ago.

I would be up for this, BUT as I book quite a few track sessions at combe, I would need to know it is on sooner than later as I pre book WELL in advance so as not to miss out on track passes.

Would be great to have some of the old days back with Saabs on track
mark411 and others, you up for this ?

Would you count your break down wagon as a "Trailer" - its one of the club questions when registering, how many members bringing trailers.

Ok , now registered as a Club so you can register and pay online at the Castle Combe website and I've updated the/my first post with the details.

I've booked in my entry fee and booked in on the 2pm Parade lap

Well done Si, thanks for organising.
Hope we have a few more Saab people along.

I expect the recovery truck will be classed as a trailer.
Does that mean we get to park trailer/ truck in with the cars ?

I will see if I can join for the day as a spectator, and join a parade lap.

I will only ever go on track proper if its a Saab only session. The standard of driving is much better in those sessions.
But I'll need to find the source of the mysterious rattle first.

Oooooooooooo!

Spring Action Day is where it all started for me, hooning around like a nutter alongside other hooning nutters.

Now then. Only a few days ago I managed to get my Aero recovered from home to get that Cadbury gearbox rebuilt again (3rd gear stripped this time), along with some rather sweet fettling of other stuff.
Everything has changed beyond recognition family health wise so messing around with cars have been at the bottom of priorities since June '20.

I would love to get back to Combe again doing what we do best.... having a right laugh on and off track. I will pencil this in, however I am in the early stages of putting a team together for a 24hr race at my local kart circuit for the end of April. Could I do both? Hmm?

Yes those days were great fun, as you say Mark, great banter off track, great fun on track.I still watch the videos of us chasing each other, me not letting you past, even though you were faster :)

Yes families do have a impact, sorry to hear there have been family health issues Mark.
I have only in the last couple of years got back to it, thanks mainly to Brenna my daughter now old enough to enjoy passenger laps, persuading me to get back on track, and wow what fun we have had.

Come along Mark, it would be great to see you again and others, and have those track battles!
If you do come along Mark, just make sure the cars not going tooooo well, otherwise I will have to hold you up again

A SAAB Club stand at Castle Combe....last one was few years ago.
Not certain if the Luxobarge is up to full on track action...might have the Marshalls appearing at intervals handing me back bits of car.....again! Certainly do the parade lap.

See you there.
