Hi All, so we've both at last got what we wanted, Mrs S has always wanted a Saab convertible - I was told when we met, and reminded prior to her 40th and 50th! I have always wanted a 'project' pref a Mk1 Hillman Imp, as that's the first car I owned, loved and knew every part of. Anyway, 'we've' compromised, She has her Saab and I have a 'project' although not the one I wanted LOL.
Picked up Saturday, it had been stored under cover since last August and was...... filthy. I attacked the outside yesterday and the professional valeter is coming on Tuesday to have a go at the inside. There we are. Heater fan doesn't work, but I gather that's pretty standard, pollen filter examined and binned. NO handbook, so a few issues with understanding the displays etc, but we'll get there

Welcome to the forum.
I have a lot of family in New Zealand, more specifically Christchurch.
Other members of family live in other areas.

They are all my Aunties children.
They moved there in the early 80's.

Then obviously they had children.
I'm the only one who's not been over there.

Welcome to the forum. I'm so old that I can remember when Christchurch was in Hampshire - and the number 20 and 21 trolley bus ran from Bournemouth.

But the OP does say "sunny", which doesn't sound like Dorset to me!

If it is the antipodean Christchurch, then welcome. Nice city you've got there (what's left of it). My daughter particularly liked the playground near the river.
If it's the original Christchurch, then welcome. Nice town. I don't visit nearly as often as I should given i'm not that far away.

Hi All, and thanks for the welcome(s).
Yes, it's the 'original' Christchurch (UK) and it was a beautiful sunny spring morning yesterday, and today, tho' it's a bit cold now.
Mr Valet came today and de-fumigated the inside, new blower (ex-Vauxhall) arriving from scrappy tomorrow.
New key case arrived today as the old one was very battered and sticky and 'open' button not working very well, so, - simple job, swap the bit's right...... ahh gently split the key and the bits of one microswitch fell out and also the +ve battery terminal. Hey ho, I guess I did want a 'project'

Have a good evening
