Car Models: Saab 93 Cabriolet
So I have had Saabs in the past and was watching wheeler dealers last sat am and they were doing a 02 93 cabriolet in blue and I thought I'd have a look on ebay. Long story short I ended up winning a blue 1999 with 107k on the clock with full history. Roof didn't which it said in the ad and to be fair swapped a few texts with the guy and he seemed genuine. He bought off the last owners that had had it for 10 years, thought he would do the roof but got bored with it. Anyway just drove it back from Oxford to Manchester and I am very pleased.

The only issue I have is, its as if there is an engine mounting gone. When you pull off there is movement and you can feel it through the gearstick. Now doing some more research, have I bought one with the dreaded bulk head issue or do some engine mountings go over time.

I did a quick google and some of the posts re repairs, brace kits etc are so old I wondered what the latest theories are? What is best way of diagnosing?

Excited about getting it back to full glory but I think so its a solid base to build on.

File comment: Just fits

Welcome to UKS. Looks like a good car to start with, has some of the usual faults with the OG93 vert.

Looks good. A workshop thread might be a good idea to ask your bulkhead question as it'll get more views.

As I understand it, if you turn the wheels while stationary you will feel the pedals move if the bulkhead is split. Also, a visual inspection of the bulkhead while an assistant turns the wheel should shown movement if it's gone.

Sounds like slack in an engine or gearbox mount to me but I never really did any work on mine when I had it to get to know it well enough. Mine was also an auto and I presume yours isn't as movement through the auto lever would be VERY bad! :D

When you think you know it all, it's a sure sign you don't.
