Hi all

My 1990 C900T auto wouldn’t start his morning. Dash lights etc came on as normal but when trying to turn the car over, there’s just a faint click.

After a bit of head scratching I’d decide to turn the ignition off and move the auto gear selector through drive into neutral and then back into park. Car then started perfectly.

Just wondering if there’s a safety switch in the gear selector mechanism that only allows starting in the park position that might be playing up.

Any thoughts out there.

Yes, I think it's a screw in plunger switch to the selector housings and can bee seen, got to, under the plastic centre tunnel cover.

Yes there is - its a black plastic quadrant thats screwed onto the side of the selector.

Its adjustable. You have to loosen the two screws, put the selector in neutral then adjust the quadrant so that the black line lines up with the white arrow. Then tighten the screws. Its very easy - but you have to remove the rear half of the centre console.
