So what's the crack with this gents, I don't do shows generally, so its all new but I'm all in and looking forward to the experience, bringing the carlsson along way got this message off the SOC, "When arriving at Prescott Hill please follow the SOC signage to the Saab Owners Club registration centre" Then what ? do we bulk together with model ? Or just crack on and park anywhere.

So then folks. Who's stopping where on the Friday before SAABFest?

I've got myself a room at The Royal Hop Hole in Tewkesbury again. Anyone else booked a room, as it was slim pickings when I booked a few weeks ago?

Saturday is the show day with prizes for best in class. The SOC has also paid for free entry to the Bugatti museum.

There is a dinner Saturday night which is payable directly with Prescott.

Sunday is when there will be runs up the hill.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make this, as I'm working.
For those that are going, enjoy!

I'm hoping to make it to Hatton in September though :D

Hi All,

I've just become the lucky owner of a 72 Saab 99, just wondering If anybody is planning to take their early 99's to Saabfest next weekend?

Gauranteed there will be a good sprinkling of 99's. Well done on your new acquisition.

JUST A 'HEADS UP'? AS SOME OF US,MAY NOT HAVE VISITED THE 'SOC' WEBSITE RECENTLY?

I FOUND THIS ,THIS MORNING? IF YOU INTENDING TO TAKE A FEW RUNS UP THE HILL....?

IMPORTANT HILL CLIMB NOTICE - This year there has been a slight change to conditions for those wishing to drive the hill or ride as passengers as you will need a Motorsport RS Clubman License, this is for insurance purposes and is a requirement for all events at motorsport locations in the UK. It’s very easy to obtain and free of charge, taking just a few minutes online at the Motorsport Associations Webpage RS Clubman Licence - Motorsport UK click on the ‘Apply Online Now’ button, enter your name, address, email and it will be sent over to you instantly via email. Please bring a print out of the license to the event.

THE 'LINK' IS ON THE SOC' WEBSITE,TO APPLY FOR THE LICENCE... :corn:

Good "spot", Birdie, got mine a while back. Very easy to do online - only takes a couple of minutes. Comes out as an A4 sheet so I reduced mine a bit (clever printer/copier!).

I'm at the Premier Inn at Cheltenham North West. Booked in April, £42.

HMMM, WELL AFTER A FELLOW 'UKS' MEMBER TRIED TO APPLY FOR HIS 'RS CLUBMAN LICENCE',USING THE ABOVE LINK? AND ALERTED ME TO THE ISSUE....

THE 'SAAB OWNERS CLUB' DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE LISTED ON THE 'DROP DOWN' LIST?

THE 'SAAB ENTHUSIASTS CLUB' IS HOWEVER? SO I USED THAT MEMBERSHIP NUMBER INSTEAD :|

ANYBODY ELSE HAD THE SAME ISSUE?

BIRDIE

Same experience, used 'Saab Enthusiasts Club' option. Worked OK and license issued.

I questioned this somewhere (can't remember now?). It doesn't actually matter if you list an affiliation or not. I didn't but it still processed OK.

I'm right down to the wire with preparations now  :argh:

Car went into the garage this morning for;

Aux Belt Tensioner (existing is chattering)
NSF Wheel Bearing
Poly Bushes to Lower Control Arm Mounts (Front & Rear)
Control Arm End Pieces
Track Rod Ends
Drop Links (front)
and a continued oil leak, which I've had to leave with them to source, but have suggested Oil Pressure Sensor and Rocker Cover Gasket (which I have a replacement for in the boot).

Camping?

The tent has been decanted, aired, inspected, and repacked.

I lent my airbed and foot pump to my daughter before the first lockdown and have not seen it since. So, at the weekend I ordered a new airbed (with a built-in pump) and a 12V Pump (as I can't be bothered to continually press my foot for 30mins from reviews seen), so the foot pump will do for fine adjustment in the dead of the night  .

Following checkout, the notification came through that it would be ready to collect in up to 10 days. Just checked with customer care, and they expect it to be available to collect on Friday Morning???

This is cutting it way too fine for my sanity!!! :wall:

I got non member ticket this year and this will be my first visit. I can't find any information about the event anywhere, is it out there?

All i really want to know is: what time can you get in from, can you buy a cup of tea, when does it close and where is the carpark? Coming with wife and 20month old so need to plan around her meals, sleeping habits etc (the toddlers habits, not the wife)

Im looking forward to seeing other early 99s in the metal to get inspired and gather ideas for my own.

Thanks!
