Always good to hear of another 99 (and C900) declared fit to be on the road :D

Thanks folks! It's good to have it back on the road! anyone have a set of 99 rear mudflaps they'd sell me?
I've put a few miles on it since it's been back on the road and I've not been tempted to screw up the boost yet, the Check Engine light is permanently on, and I've never really mastered the speed signal, though I have read that feeding the tacho signal back into the ecu in the speed signal pin should be enough to make it think the car is rolling, and thus control boost itself?
Who knows, I think if I'm going to play with it any more i need to get it hooked up to the laptop and see what it's doing, computers aren't my strong point and the T5 Suite manual is a fair read :-) !
It got a wash and a Tcut this afternoon, I suspect a good old Simoniz wax will follow this week!

Not much progress on this, it's seeming very happy running 10 psi of boost, set with a "ball and spring" manual boost controller, and it pulls like a freight train, handles well, and all in is a very capable, comfortable, fast old car.
heat shielding, exhaust wrap, and swaging the boost pipes are all on the agenda.
I still have bonnet close rubbers and mudflaps to fit (Thanks so much Dave and Peter!)

On Sunday we went north to Inverness for the Cars and Coffee meet at the V8 Cafe, first time in a long time it's been sat between two other B reg cars!
It drove well and surprised a few modern things on the way up

Unfortunately, I had thought the clutch wasn't feeling 100% the last time I drove it, I had forgotten until we were well on our way and just before we arrived in Inverness I struggled for 1st gear at a roundabout, so I nursed it to the meet.
The local Halfords was a mere 10 minute walk away, and I bought a Gunson easy bleed which worked a treat, really simple bit of kit and came with a fitting that fits the 99 reservoir perfectly.
As we all know you can't bleed a 99 clutch with the pumping the pedal method! I think the spring in the master has broken or at least it is needing the seals done.
The lad that organises the meet took a grand photo of my developing bald patch! :-)

The second Sunday of every month they meet at 10:00, maybe a bit of an early start for you? :-) totally varied selection of stuff turns up each time, it's down in the Longman industrial estate and the food is brilliant!
Aye, I don't mind going bald this way, I can't see it in the mirror yet!

I've never liked the way this 99 looked from the back, and though I've had other ones a similar age this one always looked a bit dopey.
Eventually realised it's because it didn't have mudflaps!
Nice easy little job last night with the flaps Peter kindly sent me, though it felt a shame drilling out the 33 year old pop rivets that blanked the mounting holes.

Not much progress on this, other than just driving it and enjoying it, with everything else out of service for various reasons the 99 is my current daily driver, I swear the seats are doing miracles for my back issues!
