I have received the very sad news that our friend Simon, known to many here as Bonzo Dog, has died.

Out of respect to him and his family I would like to keep this short at this point. He died at 4:30 today, peacefully with his family around him - his wife, Linda, daughters Roxi & Florence and other family members. I do not know any more than that and will leave further details until I have been in contact with Linda in due course. For now, I am sure they will want some space and some time with each other. Our thoughts are with them.

I will make details of any charitable donations available once I have spoken to Linda and will ask about funeral arrangements, letting you guys know the date and time to mark his passing.

I'm sure you will join me now in raising a glass to our friend, remembering him as that off-beat and most certainly anarchic fellow whom it has been a privilege to know.

Rest in peace, my friend.

It certainly has been a privilege to know Simon; just a really nice bloke. Can't really add to that.....

Ahhh man...

I truly hope that his family and friends can take some comfort and strength from the sincerity of the many many messages that will be left here for him.

Prayers to you all xx

This is very sad news, so very sorry & our deepest sympathies to Simons family from Sue & myself.
I never got the chance to meet him in person, but he was a true online buddy if that makes any sense.
A very sad day for all. :(

Oh bugger, this is sad news indeed. A more friendly Saabing chap you would never meet, with a great sense of fun and mischief. Really sorry to hear he didn't make it through the op, my very best wishes to Bonzooki and family.

I guess this month's WYSE meeting will be a very different occasion, and I'll make an extra effort to get there for a change.

RIP mate, going to miss the banter and the wind-ups.

I am truly saddened by the news of Simon, we knew it was a serious operation but nothing can prepare you for news like this.

My thoughts are with Linda, Roxy and Florence.

Simon has been a great friend and fun influence on the forum and within the WYSE, always welcoming and very helpful. He will be missed greatly!

Andy

Gutted, truly gutted.
Even though I never met Simon, we had PM'd each other a few times and as Johno says he was a true online buddy.
Sincerest condolences to Bonzooki, Roxi and Florence.
R.I.P Bonzo you old dog
