Yeah I've met him. He can map just about anything. Very knowledgeable. Mapped my Fiat 20VT (Think I still hold the record for the fastest standard T28 turbo with 299bhp). Used to map from the FC performance website.

Small world :)
Leighton did my FIAT Coupe 20VT LE too.

I was mate yeah. Decent set of lads too, very helpful.

So, the car in question made 313bhp on a tune from Leighton, but had to be wound back a lot on the torque front as the clutch didn't approve of the beasting it received. Ended up taking just over 450nm before the pressure plate declined to hold the clutch in.
Mods are:
An uprated actuator along with the usual plugs and new coils.

Job on the cards is now a new clutch (CG hybrid clutch with stock DMF I think) and then a remap to cope with the torque, provided the obligatory permission is granted by the lady of the house.
I'll be following suit and am in a similar predicament :D .
Yesterday my car posted 272bhp at the wheels before the 512Nm of torque pushed the pressure plate beyond its capabilities at 3,200rpm - but as far as JZW tunes are concerned, that is par for the course :D .

Decent figures, seem similar to the Nordic figures, will be interesting to see what it dyno's when the clutch is done.

Out of interest, how much is a CG stage 2 clutch and DMF? mine has been slipping for a while, not badly, but it's going to need doing.

Hope you are keeping well mate.

CG clutch: I had one of those in my Fiat Coupe with around 275bhp.
I went for lightened - SM flywheel (standard on the Coupe) and an organic friction plate and standard pressure plate design it was a custom build as they usually only used the organic plate materials on their paddle clutches only.
It worked really well and I had no further issues of slip :)

I'm good man :D. Trying to balance everything just like everyone else! Hope you're doing well too.

Stage 2 CG clutch will be £350 if you buy it outright or £200 if you send your old disc and pressure plate in. DMF will run you £350 and the fitting around £400 so take a mortgage holiday if you can

The numbers are similar to Nordic but that said the tunes seem to be different and far more rabid from Aura than Nordic. The Nordic maps may be delivering the torque higher up, not sure.

Doesn't surprise me. Dave had a 6 puck from them fitted to his 2.8 before it went bang and that thing held over 700 Nm but as a puck clutch with a solid flywheel it was like a switch and gave quite a bit of knocking at idle with the clutch out.
I don't want that and neither does the other 2.8 owner

I found a guy local who would fit a standard clutch and flywheel for £700 including parts, got a good reputation as well, the clutch was £145, so if i could upgrade to a CG stage 2 for £200 then it's well worth looking at.

Yep. If you can hang tight, I'll hopefully be getting another clutch to send in for rebuild. When i get mine swapped out i can ship it to CG for you if you like so you can have it rebuilt and save £150.

By the way, i had the cars confused earlier. Whelan's car is entirely stock besides the actuator! And yet it still makes 322bhp! Quite looking forward to getting my clutch sorted and following suit now!

Have edited above post to clarify on mods.

Absolutely. It's mainly achieved by the uprated actuator (which needs mapping in) and the result is that boost is held better throughout the rev range.

Yes the car is completly stock apart fro. The turbo smart actuator

Incedently Leighton s own development car which is an auto is also comely stock and the highest he has seen it deliver is 332bhp but after two ru s it settles at around 325 bhp Completly stock

Here is an interesting Snippet an Uprated well a garret actuator was fitted and he saw a 15bhp increase from 3500 rpm to red line over the stock actuator(because it was tierd)

Well it seems my thread has blown up a bit haha

Can anyone give me a link to the upgraded actuator? Seems like it might be worthwhile adding on, and I won't have to worry about the clutch since mine is an auto. Is it the same company who mapped the 325bhp car, Aura tuning?

Decent numbers there

Re the CG clutch they also sell the 666 ‘race’ kit for £750 which should hold a fair amount of torque

Welcome back! Been a while!
I'll be using a CG hybrid clutch in mine which is a rebuild of a stock unit. It'll handle 600Nm without complaining.
Cost is £200 for that.
