I have a 2006 9-3 Convertible and when I turn the speakers up something on the door is rattling, if I push against the door around where the electric window buttons are the rattling stops, but not sure that is the source of the problem, anyone got any tips on how to stop the dreaded rattle?

Thank you

First you need to work out what is rattling, you know the area it comes from so take the door trim off and see if it is obvious what is causing it.
It may be a broken trim clip or the loom from the window buttons needing repositioning or similar. Door lock rods are always a possibility.

If nothing is obvious then you will need to stop the rattle by baffling it, a bit of foam rubber in the right place, or a bead of silicone (in my day we would have used a blob of Dum Dum which was like black sticky blue tack, not sure if it’s still available). Don’t go too mad with silicone though, you don’t want to glue the door trim on, just a little is fine, if you need more apply it to one side only and let it dry so you end up with a cushioning strip.

Good luck

Many thanks, I will take the trim off next weekend and have a look. The sound system sounds amazing if it wasn't for that annoying rattle when the bass kicks in, I initially thought it was a blown speaker but holding the door in various places stops the rattle and the bass sounds fine. It happens in both doors.
