Thanks for doing this Andy. I started one of these threads in 2017 AND 2018, but fell off the wagon both years around April/May. Towards the end of last year I went to the doctor for something else, she looked me up and down, and pointed at the scales. It started with a '2' for the first time in my life, which shocked me but didn't surprise me. It's been creeping on since around 2010, roughly a stone per year, and it needs to stop. Since that doctor's appointment I've managed to lose nearly 2 stone, but after the Christmas excesses I need to get back on the wagon and lose another 4 stone.

Approx weight today 18st 6lbs.

I don't like the scales today.
6.5lbs gain.

I'm eating the same. But have upped my exercise. Walking 4 to 5 miles daily with the dog.

Andy, rome wasn't built in a day
it's a long haul game to get you where you want to be.
I to have ONLY lost 1lbs this week, but I know I could of been better.
Had a bad cold (man flu) which meant I did no swimming this week.
Next week WILL be better.......
If you lost a stone in a year would you be happy?
as I know I would.
Kind regards pete.

I'm still working on trying to stop buying sandwiches/pies for lunch. I'm getting there.

Weight loss is a fickle mistress. Many ups and downs.

I've found in the past that weighing at the same time of day is best and then as few times a week as possible. This avoids the 1lb on/off panics.

Keep up with the walks. It's exercise and stops food thoughts.

I am not going to weigh myself, am gonna let mirror and clothes be my judge, started a training regime called German volume training yesterday, 60% of one republic Max for 10 sets of 10 reps with 60 second rest intervals. I am going to stick with it for recommended 6 weeks whilst banishing sugar, bread and simple carbs. Time will be my judge

I'm weighing weekly.
Pretty much same time on a Thursday.
Buck naked and after being to the loo [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

Also going to start measuring myself. My clothes are much looser.

New gym regime said to improve cardio, burn fat and build muscle so weight may stay kinda steady if other factors improve. It's a HORRIBLE workout though, 10 sets of 10 reps with 60 second breaks. Totally new to me, weight seems laughable for first few sets then impossible for last few!!

Keep it up everyone who is trying, only you can make the difference

I went to my GP last November. She showed me a graph showing how my health has deteriorated in three years and weight increased to 14+ stones.
I'm now 67, 5'10", have Diabetes 2, reflux, high blood pressure as my main faults. In 2016 being 14.5st I went on the Cambridge Diet and went down to 12st over three months. I thought I could keep at that but it all came back on.
So in this last November I enrolled in a gym and use machines and swim several times a week.
Start of December I started cutting back on food and alcohol so come beginning of January my body was used to a lesser intake.
January the 2nd I started the Cambridge Diet again. Belt has now gone up an extra hole. A smaller size of jeans now. Get lots of temptations, miss alcohol I think, but feel better. People say I'm looking good in the face, healthier. I've got to stay dieting this time if I want to live longer.

Which I do as I start a new job next week !

Well done, I know how difficult it is so keep it up.

I started consciously counting calories two weeks ago. I'm keeping my daily calorie intake to 2000 or less.

Its mainly meant cutting out bread and snacks and replacing red meat with fish & chicken.
Other than that its been about cutting down on portion sizes.

Replacing sauces and mayo with low calorie versions and drinking more water or green/peppermint tea instead of coffee or tea with milk.

I have still been having a bit of chocolate most nights, a 45g bar of Bournville split over 2 nights.
If I feel peckish at other times I pick up some fruit or carrot sticks.

8lb lost so far.

Awesome bud!

I think with starting the gym and hitting the weights my weight loss will slow down. So going to switch to pictures and measurements.

Yeah I have plenty of carrots in the fridge.

I've cut out bought sauce almost entirely,.making all my own

There's 2 stone of beard missing there!

Jokes aside good effort. I'm trying to cut down on crisps and biscuits while I drive with nuts instead.

I've been keeping up with the low carb, or complex carbs (evening meal is grains/quinoa in place of potatoes, and only about 30% of the weight in tates). I've not changed much else but down to 14st 7lb 8oz as of this morning.

I do give myself Friday night to Sunday lunch off. Although, I do only eat 3 meals with rice or pasta during that period. In between, I snack on a few mixed nuts.

I have allowed myself to indulge a little at weekends.

Todays indulgence was a fried breakfast at the Redbeck meet, the way I see it is I can allow myself one a month :D

I agree with the Low Carb lifestyle. I have so much more energy throughout the day. I'm not that big just trying to get trim and fit again. But eating a lot less carb is defo a winner (Keto Diet).
Anyway good luck to everyone!
