Why am I watching this?

The intricate chandelier (hanging high aloft) has some LED's out, so they bring in a "crane" for the electrician to investigate. Is the Crane, a crane or a MEWP?

A. A Crane

B. A MEWP (Cherry Picker)

I'll go with B, a cherry picker.

Isn't just frustrating when TV programs make these sorts of errors? To be fair until I went on the course to drive one, I didn't know what a MEWP was, but even then, I would have thought dangling someone from a crane to change LEDs would be highly impractical.

To reign this argument into something we all hold dear, my boss was asking me about what size turbo my 900i had in it. When I responded that it didn't have one, he said he thought 'all SAABs have got them haven't they?'
Bless. That is like saying every VW has it's engine in the back, like the original Beetle, and every Toyota made is a hybrid...

What we have to remember is that ignorance is all around... ans we can't expect folk who write TV show scripts to grasp the 'real world'.

Bit of a shock for me when I saw the programme (recorded) tonight! I worked there in the 80s. My boss had his office there, I worked in Empress State Building (back of Earls Ct Exhibition Centre) but had use of an office in Metropole/Northumberland House when needed.

Hotel has been massively redeveloped since I was there but the entrance and foyer looked very familiar. I would need a little more than my pension to stay there now.

I've been up a boom type thing on the back of a transit van - streetlights it's meant to fix I think.

It was a bit bouncy for my liking!

Fun wasn't the word that immediately 'sprang' to mind...

Something along the lines of "get me the fun down"
