Excellent Sounds.
I did my other headlight today.
Put some Meguiars wax on but might get some of the headlight protectant.

So the lacquering should mean that they keep looking like that for longer, (you hope)

I don't bother lacquering, just polish alternate years or so

Yes, I’ll ask the guy who did them if he thinks putting the meguiar’s headlight protectant on is a good idea ...

Looks pretty good ... certainly much cheaper than getting them re-lacquered :-)

Well, you know when you can feel the surface is slippery.
It's like that.
Will see how long they last bud.
Yours look cosmic too, :)

Oh yeah, got one of those fuel filter tools.
Will let you know how it goes.

FWIW, I had my headlights done professionally last Friday. The chap looked at them and said it looked like they'd never been done previously, so had 17 years' worth of deterioration. Nevertheless, they came up like new. I asked him how long the restore would last, and he said I wouldn't need to come back to him for 5-10 years.

All for the princely sum of £45 the pair :)

How does one find a professional headlight restorer?

Yep, that's exactly what I did - googled it and then chose the one nearest me :) Their websites all say the same things, and the photos are all similar, so there's no real way of telling how good or bad they are.
