My next door neighbour died at the grand old age of 103.
His son who owns several properties at home and abroad has just let out next door to renters.
Apparently they are accountants, both female.
The smell of cannabis which I don’t mind, but my wife hates, percolating through the walls from next door is overpowering. I’ve taken a whitey or two, and my appetite has increased no end.
What to do?

coming back from an excursion to Amsterdam people at the rear of the bus were smoking 'something' all the way back from Hull, only served to give me a headache.

There was a regular customer when i was delivering pizza.

House of young people. Could smell it from across the street it was so powerful.

If its a problem, report them to the police.

As a cabbie I smelt it on some customers every day. I am not a fan.

Whilst I am all for live and let live I would be very upset if the smell was coming through from the walls of the house next door. I would certainly have a word.

I am surprised if they are employed (as opposed to self employed) that fellow workers do not complain. Surely if it is so bad that the smell is coming through walls all their clothes must reek of it.

Our neighbours son and his two friends come over and do it too. Far as we can tell, in our case, it's coming into our side of the semi via the cavity. (due to a rather poor extension on their side) It smells utterly foul and is strong enough on our side that you'd think it was us smoking it. My parents didn't even know what it was as first, but I'd encountered it during my years in college where it was everywhere so already knew that signature smell rather well. No wonder it's nicknamed skunk.

So far, our only remedy for it has been a mixture of essential oils, air fresheners and a few candles.

Print of a recipe for hash brownies and pop it through their letterbox.

They must be fairly hitting it for it to be coming through your wall though, or your house is badly built. Like old cabbie as a Taxi driver I used to take people to their £freind's" house and back regularly. I did enjoy the ever more convoluted excuses. "I left my keys at my mates house" "My phone needs a charger and only this dude has a spare" that sort of thing then they would be back in the car and you could smell it but we would all pretend nothing was going on.

I would have rather picked up stoners than drunks every day of the week though. No aggression and less chance of being hit on.

I would hazard a guess that it’s being grown next door and not just being smoked.

It’s common for people to grow it in a spare room in a grow tent and as long as it’s 9 plants or less all the police do is remove and destroy them and give a caution.

Big money to be made or free smoke for a year from one crop if wyou know what you are doing.

My labourer smokes it and he knows of 5/6 houses locally that grow it on a big scale so there must be thousands doing it on a small scale just for personal use.

I don’t mind the smell but I do easily get irritated by people so I think I’d have a chat with them and say you can smell it, you won’t go to police but please try to keep it under control.

Generally agree although many drunks were usually (and sadly) regulars. I did not like drug dealers although they were not any trouble. One exception was a pick up early one Sunday morning where 3 dealers were rowing in Patois about where they were going in Bristol, St Paul's or Easton neither of which were my favourite haunts. It threatened to get nasty and I was happy to get the fare paid on that one and get back to Bath in one piece.

If you don't like the smell, move in next to me when the farmers spread pig poo on the fields...

They're not growing it as it only smells when they're at home.
Both are young female accountants, so I wouldn't think they'd need the extra cash from growing the stuff.
Think I'll have a word in jest and hope it gets through in the right way.
