New members can join and their first post can and sometimes is a car that they are selling or parts. They've only joined the site to offload.
Could the rules be changed so they need a minimum number if posts?
Just asking.....

What's the thought behind that?

Seems to be cars popping up for as and it's their first and probably only post and as they are new members they can't pm or the such until 5 posts.
The corsa ď website that my daughter uses you have to pay £12.50 for a years subscription in the selling....not saying that uksaabs introduce that.

Hmm, they could be looking for enthusiasts who are more likely to be interested than maybe eBay and the like. That they have to overcome the 5 posts rule before then can communicate easily.

It's obvious that they are "new" because of the post count and the usual "I can't PM yet" stuff.

The rest of it is down the Buyer Beware.

If they are thinking they'll get a better price here than eBay then they probably don't understand our relationship with our wallets

Some who join to sell do sometimes stay.
They may be selling to upgrade and stay with the marque.

Plus they sometimes offer what they are selling at lower prices on here than on eBay and the like.
Should we deny the chance of a bargain to UKsaabers?

The 5 posts rule for pm's and post approval is in place to deter Spam and those who do just join to add a link to their ads listed elsewhere.

On the whole, for what's a diminishing marque, it's better that this is the place to buy and sell, I think.

Hello. The system does not allow me to send pms. I know it's because I haven't posted before, but as I explained to you the other time, I no longer own a saab, so I am not much into forums lately. If you could make an exception and activate the pm option only for one time, I would be very thankful.

On the other hand, i tried to contact the moderators, but i still couldn't, so that the problem would be solved.
Please get back to me via pm (which i can answer), or via email, which you have.
Nikos

If we made an exception for you we would be setting a precedent for others to ask and expect the same. The 5 post rule is in place for the reasons already stated above.

Your now only one post off being able to use the pm facility.

I think that's a mountain that could be overcome :)

I understand, but i just don't want to write posts, just to write posts. And now i am on five without having said something :)
Besides, moderators and admin should, in my opinion have a contact option, which i didn't find.

Not an issue now, you have access to the pm facility.

If you had responded to the posts in your ad you would have had 5 posts some time ago.

Also as per your ad there is nothing stopping you receiving pm's via which interested parties can forward contact details.

You also now have the ability to contact the mod/admin team via pm.

The introductions section is an excellent place to make 5 quick posts.
