Afternoon all - I'm examining the fuel system on our 183k 1985 T16 900 as there's a slight whiff in the cabin, but I got mentally snagged on the Bosch injectors.

They are number all 0280 015 0706, looking very tired and slightly rusty, though secure. Are these correct for the model and year? I had found reports of 0280150712, 0280150761 (US variant?), 0280150947 (later Bosch equivalent replacement?).

I have previously swapped EV1 single pintle injectors on my Alfa Romeo 164 twinspark for later EV6 quad pintles with the same flow rate and that helped fuel efficiency and response, though that's a well trodden path for twinsparks.

Are there any equivalent straight swap 'upgrades' or is the Bosch system as particular as myth suggests?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Nothing but Bosch CIS injectors can be fitted and there is no reliable information available with specs of the different part numbers...

Melle, the 16-valve engines didn't use CIS - they have electrically-operated injectors instead.

Oops, missed that it’s a 16 valve engine; Spinakerr please ignore my previous post.

Thank you all for the responses - yes I have been looking at the Bosch tables, and I have found quadjets (EV6) with equivalent flow rates.

My issue is the change in delivery BAR - as the T16 is 2.5bar, before the industry standardisation of 3bar for road cars, I've use the normal formulas to calculate the 3Bar fuel rate (~235cc/min).

If I put these injectors in (say the Bosch 0 280 155 832), will the fuel pressure regulator and injectors all play nicely together? I know, I know, I'll just go and experiment and report back... just wanted to know if there was a common swap or upgrade, without changing any other parts, for the T16.

Thanks again!
