Strange one, when going fastish round a roundabout or a long sharp bend, the car gives out the aeroplane bing bong! Nothing on dash, no lights, feels like a "I'm not comfortable doing this" warning, is that normal!? Anything to do with traction or mild lift off?

It's a transient fault that corrects itself immediately you go straight. The usual cause is low brake fluid. The brake fluid slops to one side and the level sensor gets triggered. May just need a small top up.

Fluid level dropping is normal as the brake pads wear. If you do top up, remember that you may need to remove some when you renew the pads.

Or low Oil Pressure! Do you see the oil warning light before the engine starts? If you dont then get that looked at ASAP. If you do then make sure you arent seeing it when going round fast corners.

My immediate thought was oil pressure, which as we know makes itself apparent around right-handers. As the OP says no warning lights then perhaps not, but I definitely agree with what 9000parts says - be sure it isn’t that!

Mine does it for oil pressure & as the oil pressure light is cunningly hidden behind the steering wheel I never see it light up either.

Thats a distinctly bad thing........ I would strongly suggest that you get the sump dropped on that as soon as possible!

Thanks everyone, so ruled out the oil pressure so sgould that makes sense, I'm due to get the calipers discs and pads swapped out in next month or so so I'll make do for now, it's not like I'm tearing it around every night. As long as it's safe.

Thanks all

Have you checked the brake fluid level? Chances are you're over-due a change anyway, so you may as well top up now and flush it all out/refill when you do the discs & pads.

My old 2.2 once started doing this, and it turned out to be the oil pressure sender going west.

It was so transient that by the time the brain had registered the warning chime, the light had gone off.
