Thought I'd put together a thread to keep a running diary of the bits and pieces that I get done to the car. It's a 2007 9-5 Aero Saloon in Metallic Titan Grey.

I bought it back in April of 2015 and since then have enjoyed many miles of comfortable motoring.

Here's a picture at the Ponderosa on top of Horseshoe Pass...

A little "on the cheap" mod... Always liked the look of the Hirsch style pedal covers, but rare as hen's teeth these days and not even sure if they did them for the automatics.

Owing to some more GM parts bin specials, the 9-5 has the same pedal covers as the Insignia (and probably the Vectra), found some pedal covers from eBay sold to fit a Buick Regal. At £14 they were worth a punt... just turned up this afternoon, I think they look great!

They look alright to me. I may investigate some myself. I always seem to dislodge the rubber covers from the accelerator of any car I drive for a while so having matching metal pedals is the way forward for me.

Some more bits turned up this afternoon, ordered an old stock Parking Assistance kit and will be shortly attempting a retrofit of the parking sensors. This kit utilises the towbar and CD changer wiring harness.

Thats the whole point of ''Your cars'' keeping all the updates on your car in one place.

Indeed, I had initially made this post in reference to the pedal covers as above, I've now chopped and changed the topic to suit! :D

Parking sensors and holders are currently getting a very thin coat of paint...

Slight setback on the parking sensors... Although my car has the towbar wiring harness from factory is does not have the CD changer connectors as I originally thought. I found this rather confusing as our other 9-5 (a 2006 MY) does have both of these.

Therefore the cable harness supplies with the kit (5520630) doesn't work for me. Most of the parts sites list this as the cable for MY 02-05 but was supplied in a kit to fit MY 06 cars. All very confusing...

I've managed to track down and order the required cable (32026013), which runs all the way from the fuse box, through some connectors in the centre console and to the Saab Parking Assistance ECU. I'm now eagerly awaiting it's arrival, less eagerly looking forward to the necessary trim removal to fit it.

On a more positive note I'm rather pleased with the results of the paint job on the sensors and surrounds...

Well, the new bit of harness has turned up from R&D Parts, now to find the time to start installing it all...

Saw your car today as I walked past The Crown. Nice looking car indeed, I did comment to the wife that it looks like a well looked after Saab.

Good luck with the parking sensor install. I find it odd that my 2017 Vector Sport diesel has them, yet your Aero doesn't....

Spotted in the wild! Just popped out for a spot of lunch, thanks for your comment, I try my best!

Indeed it is strange, our other 9-5 is a 2006 Vector which also has parking sensors, however looking at the installation, I get the distinct impression that these weren't fitted from new.

From comments over the years in this place I'd say that Aero's didn't get the luxuries as standard. So if the original buyer didn't tick the options list it can be down, possibly quite a lot, on spec to a lesser sporting version.

Not safe to assume an Aero will have all the Toys
