What message does the SID say when you get back in?

Could be a faulty alarm unit - flat batteries etc. Or a faulty tilt sensor etc.

You can eliminate the sensors by pressing the Night Panel button as you leave the car. Message will say "Doors Only".

Thanks S , i havent checked the sid message . i take it its not a trait then ? it only happens after (eg) 20 mins away from the car , not after 5 mins or whatever .

The alarm sounding at random intervals can be caused by either fault.

Tell us the SID message. It may help.

I'm getting confused!!

The alarm will go off if you open a door!! The system sets itself. But it can be altered etc. by a dealer using the Tech2 computer.

I know if I leave my bonnet ajar for a while the alarm goes off when I open it but never tried the door. Will have to try this tomorrow. Any idea how long you leave it before it goes off when you open the door or is 20 minutes a good time? I know the alarms can have a self arming feature after a set amount of time.
