Recently had a full exhaust fitted, replaced standard steel with Hirsch stainless steel. Quality of service was great, very professional, very likeable will use again!

Although not quite a garage, but certainly a service... would also recommend Paint It for alloy wheel refurbishment and painting.

For extremely good service I can heartily recommend Ray at Indysaab. He comes across as a really nice bloke and at no time did I think I was being talked down to or bamboozled with 'tech talk'. Everything was explained fully and Ray now looks after my 9-5 griffin (99my0and 9-3 vector tid (55my)

I'd just like to put a word in for Andy at Saab Master in Torquay, who bends over backwards to help out and, from what I can tell really knows his stuff.

We've only recently moved to the area, so not much experience around here but based on it thus far I'd recommend him.

I use this garage http://www.dolbears.co.uk/index.html in Newton Abbot, Devon for general servicing and repairs, not a saab specialist but I have never had any problem with them working on my 9-3, they always manage to fit me in with no notice if I have a problem with the van as they know I need it for work.

Jack closed down a few years ago. But Stuart 50 yards away at Andrew Brodie came to my rescue.

from my blog

http://wineforspicewarrenedwardes.blogspot.com/2012/02/why-did-saab-go-bust.html

In January 2012 my 2003 SAAB 9-5 got through its annual service and no problems once again with its annual inspection. It cost me just £166 including £55 for the annual MOT

The annual service cost including MOT has been under £200 for the last four years.

After the three-year dealer warranty ran out I went to a SAAB specialist mechanic in North-West London. On getting no answer on the phone I went over to Willesden and there was no sign of Jack or Jaycee Engineering (SAAB).

Close by was a Maserati / Citroën repair mechanic. I asked Stuart, the owner of Andrew Brodie, if he knew about Jack and he said that Jack had closed Jaycee. Becasue SAABs seldom need major repairs, servicing SAABs wasn't profitable.

As it happens, Stuart's wife owned an identical SAAB 9-5 and so he'd happily service my car. That was a great move on my part as not only has the car been well maintained but nothing has gone wrong with it in five years.

So if you are in Central, West or North London I suggest you contact Stuart of Andrew Brodie for your SAAB servicing. Feel free to mention me.

[I am not after a commission. I just don't want him to go bust through a lack of work]

Oh and to get a feel for the mark-ups of main SAAB dealers I needed a new wing mirror after it was hit by an oncoming car. The mirror housing was fine but I just needed a replacement mirror for the one that had cracked.

I phoned a pair of SAAB dealers and the prices quoted were £95 and £98 including fitting.

EBay came to the rescue. I discovered Neo Brothers in North London. The wing mirror glass for the SAAB came to just £14.24. Now that is quite a mark-up.

I was going to ask if anyone knows of a reputable Saab garage near Wembley and this answers my question :D

Thanks.

What does ANG charge for a full annual nothing special service plus MOT?

I can thoroughly and highly recommend Neo Bros in Herts for both their work and their prices, and they have been marvellous with their help and advice to me in what seems like an eternity now! 8)

Also Abbott Racing have proven to be very good to me over the years if not a touch pricey! but if the main man Neil is working on your car, then you can sleep soundly in your bed! as that man IS a Master Craftsman! 8)

I bought a wing mirror from Neo Bros via ebay for £15 compared with £98 from a Saab dealer and £50 from Eurocarparts

Has anyone tried Belsyre Garage in Oxford, they're a Saab specialist? Be interested to get some feed back.

My car needs an intermediate service, I'm tempted to give them ago instead of my usual (non specialist) garage.

I would second the recommendation for West Midlands Saab Specialists ( http://www.wmss.co.uk ) on page 1. I have been using them since 2005, my dad and brother since before then, and my dad has known John, Paul, & Stuart since they worked at Eachelhurst Saab back when c900s were new in the early 90s. They are great guys, really know their stuff, and I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

I don't want to tread on any toes, but will just say this: I took my car there once and would never take it there again. I'm still angry about it several years on.

Hi

Anyone in Northamptonshire, I can highly recommend Chris at Woodburcote Garage (Just outside Silverstone village), he has looked after our family cars - BMW/Merc/Fiat and most recently SAAB 9-3 Vert, absolutely brilliantly, he really is a proper engineer and solved the ongoing ECU light problem on the SAAB, he has all the Tech 11 software.

He can be contacted on 01327 352582

Regards H

I'll put a 2nd recommendation on...

Alty's of Preston

Steve and Malcolm are really nice guys, i was recommended to them by a close friend
Who has used them for years and i wasn't disappointed. Excellent service at a great
price.
Steve even invited the Misses and I to Chipping steam festival, had a great time

Would recommend North Motors, near Winchester if you are in the area. Nigel is outstanding and knows his stuff. Takes about 2 weeks or so to get in. However, if you have a problem he does his best to get you in that day.

For tyres, balancing and tyre repairs in north derbyshire, jons tyres on derby road, chesterfield are i feel the best in the area, i got a nail in my hyundai getz tyre it cost £5 to repair and balancing is also £5 per wheel. Tyres cost from around £25 for part worn's and are fitted there and then.

Hi Andy,

You can't be too far from me (Bromley).

I must confess I've not got on well with any of the local Saab places and still take mine to WMSS in Birmingham and Jamsaab in Bristol.

Here's a quick rundown from memory:

Cromwell Saab (Beckenham) - found them really unfriendly so took my money elsewhere!
Orpington Saab - have heard mixed reports
Motorvation (Tonbridge) - not used but heard good things
Sarbspec (Tunbridge Wells) - had a very bad experience when it was "South East Saab". Hopefully the new owners are more organised!
Carlssons (Leatherhead) - heard good things a while back but never used.
I seem to remember that there was a guy in Charlton too that was well thought of, but never used him.

HTH.

yes mate down the road from you in Beckenham.

Thanks for the info. Always good to get inside info.

There's a place in Chislehurst which says its an "official Saab service centre" but not sure what that means.

Hoping to pick my one up on Saturday :D
