Ive allways been told your best to leave fresh paintwork for a bit to harden?

Dunno if this is right, am sure someone will confirm or deny this

Not supposed to wax/seal it until its had time to cure. Rob will know for certain though.

Looks nice, wish i could afford to get mine sorted out. Bit expensive for what i'm going to need.

dont worry i didnt polish the fresh paint just got rid of the dust, but i did give the original paint a cheeky coat of extra gloss protection after dusting it down, and cleaned and dressed the wheels and tyres, that chuffing paintshop dust gets everyware, not any paint dust but white dust from were they compond polished the old paint.

If it's been baked, waxing will do no harm really, straight on, starigh off.

Can you feel the paint with yer finger nail to see if it's still soft.

Nice pair of headlamps matey 'n' all.

Edit: paint those rusty bits on yer discs mate, it looks an eye sore with a flash :)

hey up rob,yes i am fond of the headlights to,paint was baked on and feels rock hard, but i will leave it a week before i give it a sealant i think, rust on the passenger disc is getting on my nerves.its were the pads are not touching the disc, but the car pulls up straight and went through the mot with no advisories so i guess if i drove it more the pad would wear to meet the disc? never thought of painting the vented bits(not sure if you can?)

X3 on those headlamps! 8)

Anyways back to painting cars.

I think Rob is talking about the hub part of the brake discs rather than the vented part at the top, Ive tried painting those btw, & its a waste of time.
Being as your wheels look sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo posh, the hub part of the discs needs cleaning & painting or the rusty dirty water will stain the hub part of the wheel.
Wheels off, wire brush & sand the disc hubs, brush on some cheapo silver high temp paint & spray some clear lacquer over the silver paint before it goes off, you should end up with this.

This will look nice & fresh against your nice clean wheels.

Have to say Leds, that car of yours is looking pretty darn gorgeous, top marks matey. 8)

cheers rob,a while ago i did paint all the hubs with black smooth hammerite as the rears look horrible with as you say a rusty stain, uncle rob must mean my ring  of rust where the pad and disc dont want to shake hands yet.that might change as i am toying with the idea of yellow or blue pads later in the year.

hi rob,can i ask if its the top picture you are looking at the rust on the passenger disc? if so its not were the pad is not covering the disc as i painted that(steady hand and a small brush)but were the pad is covering the disc but not touching it when the brakes are applied.
