Guys and gals

I have just received notification from the organisers of the Glamis Classic Extravaganza in Angus.
11th/12th of July.

This is probably the biggest show in Scotland, and is a great weekend away.
We usually make a club entry, under some name like Scottish SAAB Enthusiast, or similar.
This gives us a club stand big enough for 10 cars, but we can add more if necessary.

We've had Paul Redsaabs up from Chester le Street the last 2 years, and he has given Glamis the thumbs up!!

We have in the past had a 10 cars stand of various SAABs, ancient to modern. (Plus a pre-war Austin car last year!)

Some of us go for the whole weekend, others just come on the Saturday and/or the Sunday. Up to you.
There's a Ceilidh on the Saturday night for those camping on Saturday night. It's a hoot!

It's very early days, but if you think you might make it, put your name down.
The available club space fills up very quickly.

Closing date is usually around mid May, though we need to get an entry in well before then.

I'll start the ball rolling.

1/ Andy the Troll.

Hi Andy,

As l indicated when l spoke to you at the Angel of the North, l, m afraid l,m not going to make this years meeting.

With Saab fest being at Crewkerne this year, coming up to Scotland at the beginning of July and then off to the National at the end of July is just two much of a stretch even for me mate.

It's a brilliant weekend at Glamis and l will be back again next year.

Cheers

Paul

1/ Andy the Troll, Friday to Sunday. Camping
2/ Deggsie
3/ Stig, Saturday/Sunday. Camping.

I will make a "provisional dinner booking at the Strathmore Arms for Friday and Saturday night.
Like last year I'll stab a guess at 2 for Friday, and 12 for Saturday night. I think we were 12 last year on Saturday night.

Doive - I assume you'll be eating with us on Saturday night?

Deggsie - Are you coming Saturday/Sunday? If there on Saturday, are you wanting to eat with us?

Andy

Hi Andy,

Having looked at this again and realised there is an additional week between this meet and the National this year, l have changed my mind and decided to attend. I will be camping Friday and Saturday nights and joining you for the meal both nights. No idea which car l, m bringing yet.

I will see if l can get some more to come with me from South of the border.

Cheers Paul

Moving this one to ''Meetings'' rather than leaving it in ''Provisional/gauging interest''.

Paul.
Excellent news my man.

I'm going to start adding cars models, as far as I know them. Please amend as you see fit.
I've also added meal details for the Strathmore Arms.g

We now have a tradition of of having a non SAAB in the centre of the stand. Two years ago it was one of John Wyatt's American monsters, complete with ridiculous fins, last year it was a pre - war Austin, this year, if no one objects, I propose my wife's Nissan Fiagaro. (a great wee car by the way, 998 cc of FUN!.)

1/ Andy the Troll, Friday to Sunday. Camping. SAAB 96. Meal Friday and Saturday.
2/ Deggsie. SAAB 96. (or 900 Convertible?) No meals.
3/ Stig, Saturday/Sunday. Camping. SAAB 900 Meal on Saturday.
4/ Doive & Green Feet, Sunday, Camping. Which car? Meal on Saturday.
5/ Mrs Troll (Nissan Figaro), Sunday only. No meals
6/ Dave Fisher. (Saturday/Sunday, no camping) SAAB 900i. Will you join us to eat on Saturday night Dave?
7/Paul Redsaabs, Friday to Sunday camping. SAAB 900. Meal Friday and Saturday. Lamb both nights, no doubt!!!
8/Magrew. Saturday Sunday Camping. SAAB 9-5? Meal on Saturday.
9/ Crocs - Saturday/Sunday 96 GT 850. No camping. Meal on Saturday.
