The rev counter on my 99turbo suddenly stopped working, I have tried a spare unit which may not be functioning and it also doesn’t work, does anyone know where the sender is and whether this is replaceable

The sender is basically the pulse from the negative side of the coil although on a 99 turbo it may come directly from the electronic ignition unit. Unfortunately the rev counters do pack up, I've got 2 or 3 that don't work. Should be repairable though.

Well Rev counter works when the lights are on!
The daytime running lights are also not working so somehow tied in with these?

Possibly but nothing obviously faulty although the plastic light backings are very fragile due to the heat of the daylight 21W bulbs, the fuse covering the lights is also not labelled but again nothing looks to have blown

I spoke to Martin at Jamsaab, he suggested looking at the wiring under the fuse box, his technical term was “tickling”, anyway it worked straight away, I seem to think most electrical problems on the 99 go back to the fuse box! Many thanks for the suggestions.
