I have done so little to this car in the last few months, mainly as it's just been soldiering on being my daily drive :)

Over the next few months I'll be converting it to rear handbrake, 9000 front brakes, 1" banded steels and this little alteration....

I'm at the limit of the standard turbo, it comes in quite hard but can't keep the boost higher in the rev range. Plan is to run a nice progressive boost map but with a bit more up top with this larger turbo.

I've run ebay cheapy turbos with other cars without issues. :)

I think Martin was more referring to the C900 gearbox's well-known lack of structural integrity when shovelling lots of torque through it...good luck with it, but you might want to look out for a chill cast box and think about a strengthened diff cover plate :corn:

Haven't bolted on the bigger turbo. That will probably end up on another car of mine.

For the 900 I've recently changed a slightly bent upper suspension arm, fitted rear handbrake components, banded steels (1.5" wider, now 7" wide) and 9000 front brakes with yellowstuff pads. Very happy with the results. Next is B6 shocks.

The wheels are standard 4x108 pcd 5.5" 900 wheels banded by 1.5". Makes them 7" wide and I have them fitted with 205/55/15 Toyo Proxes T1R tyres.

I was always worried about going with banded steels and the increased offset giving unwanted bump steer and increased torque steer. Well I can confirm that isn't the case :-)

Who did the banding? I would like to keep the steel wheel look on Windscale (latest addition to the fleet) and keep looking for 16" steels to replace the 15" that are currently attached. But to be able to put decent rubber on 15"...

I like what you've done very much.

Search Paul Redshaw on facebook. He runs a vintage diesel buisness rebuilding old Gardener and Lister engines for narrow boats. I've had these up to over 100mph and 0 vibrations :-) Very happy with them

That is a relief because that is the only reason I haven't had mine done yet. Off to ascarborough it is then http://www.alonzecustom.co.uk/steel-wheel-banding.php

Your car looks fab by the way.

Bought Koni red adjustable rebound shocks and will be fitting them along with a rear anti roll bar in the next few weeks. It'll be the last piece of the puzzle to go with the power and brakes!

Stopped using this from January to June as the wiring loom which was rushed when I first converted the car needed stripping back, all the old un-used wiring removed and I wanted to move the relays and fuses that I added for the T5 bits fitted in to the cars standard fuse box. Got that all done last week and it's back on the road again.

Also fitted Koni red adjustable shocks, fitted them on there softest setting, could do with being stiffened but they need to be removed from the car to be adjusted
