I'm after the barrel housing for my 9-5. I need one from a 2005 onwards (DE should be fine also)

Saabotage very kindly dropped of a load of spares ones (from a 2003 and earlier I think), but upon dis assembling, it seems Saab changed the barrel slightly (assume around 2004/2005). I only need the outer barrel - mine is worn where the pin engages and makes the lock pop up, so it's currently always stuck down - remote won't work and radio doesn't shut off automatically. Annoying!

I planned to take the middle part out with the tumblers and swap the housings over which will work if someone has the correct sized barrel.

The only way i can tell the difference between the 2 years :

Newer on top, older one below - the casing for the 2005 onwards appears to be made of a slightly different metal. Has a goldish tint, rather than the old steel grey colour.

Key hole is slightly enlarged (wider) on the newer model.

New (10.5 mm)

Old (9mm)

The definitive way to tell - if you remove the middle out, the new key/barrel only has 4 sets (8 tumblers) where as the older one has 5 set (10 tumblers)

If anyone has a car breaking, or a barrel, please let me know.

Many thanks

I don't have one available sorry, but yes later cars (I thought from Dame onwards but perhaps 04 onwards) had a wider key blade.
